Otago Hobbit

I'm sure the North Island has tons of grand theatres with great 3D HFR viewing options, but I'm wondering about Otago. A couple days ago there was an article in the ODT saying we're a bit behind: http://www.odt.co.nz/news/queenstown-lakes/238252/hobbit-technology-rare

I've got tickets for 3D HFR at the Dunedin Rialto, and that article made me wonder: is Dunedin's 3D HFR going to look the same as that in Wellington, Auckland, New York, etc.? Are all 3D HFR viewing experiences going to be pretty much alike? Or is 3D and/or HFR more sensitive to screen, lighting, projector quality, etc. than 2D, where the audio seems to be the weak link? I've never seen a 3D (or of course HFR) movie in a theatre, so don't know how much variance there is.

Also, we're moving to Wanaka next month, and according to the ODT article, Wanaka has a couple "Hobbit-ready" theatres, but their websites don't explicitly state HFR. Can anyone in Wanaka verify whether there's a 3D HFR cinema there? And after you've seen the movie there, can you please post your viewing experiences to this topic?

And finally, do you think the Hobbit is likely to still be playing in 3D HFR a month from now? Or do "older" movies generally end up showing at 2D (24FPS) once traffic dies down? I really haven't been paying attention to 3D, or theatres in general, until now. I guess PJ's motivation for pushing the tech was right!
