What you want to know my friend?
I am afraid to say too much on here...I don't want to dish out spoilers to some people on here.

I must say...I LOVE THE FELLOWSHIP
but this just took the cake! And its only the first one!!!!

Pour Gollum...you feel so much for him...there is a part where Gollum starts to cry, you see he's poor helpless and Bilbo has pity for him.

It was incredible...the screening I saw it in it was 3D 48 FPS

So sitting in the front you actually feel like you are there! It was like a Disneyride...so fun!

The lighting and cinematography was perfect and the 48 FPS was to my liking

Nice. I'm just hoping it's not overly comedic, childish, or fantastic. Especially the fight scenes, but I've heard they can be. Really wasn't too impressed with Legolas sliding down a shield in TTT or sliding down the trunk of an oliphant bigger than most houses in TRoTK. Unrealistic "cool" fight moments.

All right! Good for you! That is great. A few queries

1) Do we see more of Gandalf's effective magic than in Fellowship, in keeping with the books and

2) How severely was the dwarven history altered? Do the dwarves even win the war against The Orcs outside Moria? Is Azog still killed there? Does Thror die IN he battle, instead before it like he is supposed to (his death and desecration having caused the war), and do the dwarves abandon going back because of he presence of The Balrog, or because they just don't even win the battle against the orcs/goblins?

"Hear me, hounds of Sauron, Gandalf is here! Fly if you value your foul skins, I will shrivel you from tail to snout if you step within this circle!"

How was the pace of the film?

Seems some reviews have called the film bloated, while others say it's really fast and intense. How would you describe the pace and flow of the film?

Nice to have finally someone that is willing to answer a few questions.

My questions are:

1. Is the purse in?
2. If the Gandalf/Thrain confrontation is not in, how is it explained that Gandalf got the key?
3. Is Azog undead?
4. Do we see Bolg? Does he have a beard or is it a Dwarven scalp he wears?
5. Is the Dwarven History intact or has it been altered?

Thanks!

i'm sorry...

...if i'm asking too much ;)
- how does it end - the eagles fly through the night, or do they arrive at the carrock.

- do we see much of dol guldur, or only the glimpse with radagst walking over the bridge in the tv-spot.

- where are the nazgul-crypts? somewhere near the trollshaws, or maybe agmar

- how much do we see of erebor and the dwarf-kingdom under the hill - do we see thorins kingdom in the blue mountains as well?

again, sorry if thats too much to ask ;)

I wonder if we will really see

the Nazgul crypts, because Radagast finds the sword at Guldor, not at the actual crypts. I guess they either show them venturing there in DOS and find them empty, or have a dialogue like that:

Elrond: Our scout to the crypts in Angmar has returned...

A blond dignified Elf enters the scene.

Elrond: Glorfindel, are the crypts still sealed?

Glorfindel: They are all empty, the 9 are gone...

Wink

Could you answer a question about the end of the film?

I've been confused and would like for it to be cleared up. I've deleted my thread because I realized if everyone had questions and posted a thread that it would get out of hand. I don't need to know everything like if Smaug is featured or not as it has been speculated, I just want to know one word, where is the company at the end of the film?

Eagles or Carrock?

Thanks!

Congrats! And two (SPOILERY) questions:

Could you explain how the film begins? Is it right that the prologue is narrated by Bilbo and concerns the Dwarves and the Dragon? How does this segue into the story of the young Bilbo?

Could you explain how the film ends? How much can be seen when Smaug opens his eye? How do we get into his lair (e.g., is there a shot of the mountain from outside beforehand, or a moving shot passing from the exterior through some tunnel into the lair?)?

(This post was edited by Glóin the Dark on Dec 5 2012, 3:06pm)

FYI to all posting in this thread - a few spoilers were edited out of subject lines

Everyone is doing so well in this thread keeping spoilers out of subject lines - but a few slipped through so we took them out of the subject line and put them in the body of your post.

As the "Spoilers and High Board Traffic" sticky post at the top of the board says, we'll continue to do this until 12/12 when the movie starts opening to the public world-wide.

Thanks and enjoy! Smile

WB is the troll. Del Toro is a hobbit trying to dip his hand into their purse. The purse says "'ere, oo are you?", and gives the money to Peter Jackson instead.

Ah, yes. (Spoilers within.)

Thanks - that clears up that part of my question.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey starts off with a prologue that explains a bit of backstory, much like the opening of The Fellowship of the Ring . . . This time, instead of a history lesson from Galadriel (Blanchett), we’re treated to a narration by an elder Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holm). In the chronology of the overall story, this is just before his long-awaited party in the early part of Fellowship. What might be my favorite sequence of the entire film comes within the first few minutes, as Bilbo narrates over the destruction of the ancient Dwarven kingdom of Erebor by the fearsome dragon, Smaug. We also get the introduction to our secondary protagonist, the serious and driven leader of the Dwarves, Thorin Oakenshield (Armitage)."

I can't wait! I have total confidence in this movie, but I have two small questions that need answering( even though I could ask a hundred more)

First of all: what are the Nazgul-crypts?
Second of all: does the movie war of dwarves and Orcs stay true to the appendices( with throes death causing the war, the dwarves winning and azog killing nain to be killed by dain)?? This is extremeley important to know for me! Thanks in advance!!!SmileSmileSmile
