Mine has finally been confirmed too! So it's great news.

Just need to make sure my booked ticket will be one of the screenings. Just gone on to the Cineworld website, and all the times have changed. Crazy

IMAX showings in HFR?

I already booked to see the film in IMAX 3D at the Birmingham one a week ago. Will IMAX showings of The Hobbit also be in HFR do you know?

Some are

from when i last checked on the IMAX website the Birmingham cinemas were not showing it in IMAX and HFR, though this could change and i would think it likely what with Birmingham being such a big city.

my advice is check the imax website for details of where is been shown in HFR and IMAX.

Shown on imax screens

so its imax 3d and hfr combined. Its everything all rolled into one! :)

Though perhaps not at birmingham - the cinemas showing it were cineworld at sheffield and nottingham and then the printworks in manchester.

Though im sure others have been added to the list since i last looked which was on 29th November.

Half-and-half.

I initially misread the thread title as saying that these cinemas would be projecting at 36 frames per second. Thought they were hedging their bets...

Hopefully you'll be able to see it somehwere

If not, HFR should be more wide spread by the time TABA is released.

I hope so

You'd think though they'd have one place in North Wales showing it in 48fps though. but it's the film it's self that's important.

Already booked IMAX 3D

Me and my girlfriend just booked our IMAX tickets as CIneworld were taking too long to announce their HFR screens. Then just a few hours later they announce it!!!! Mad

Anyway's its fine as we have Unlimited cards so after the opening day IMAX we'll be going back to catch it in 48fps for no extra cost. And according to my local the screen where they have HFR is in 4k (screen 7 Edinburgh) so it should be crystal clear. Cool
