The Hobbit Soundtrack Clips

Just wanted to alert everyone that Water Tower Music has posted 1min 30sec clips of the Extended Edition soundtrack on their Soundcloud page.

http://soundcloud.com/watertowermusic/sets/the-hobbit-an-unexpected

I'm excited about this because I can finally hear that MOST beautiful little piece of music, "Erebor", again!

Also, Water Tower's Twitter page suggests that we may be getting a soundtrack suprise today! https://twitter.com/watertowermusic

*irony* WOW!

Uhm, well... the whole soundtrack has been leaked already and most of us listened to it. ;) ;)

Third hobbit movie feels... thin. Sort of stretched, like... butter scraped over too much bread.

Those bagpipes - wow. I truly hope this piece features in the film.

I can picture...

Thorin leading the company north from Lake Town toward the Lonely Mountain in the second movie with an even more epic version of this music playing! Beautiful stuff, Mr. Shore. I hope it's featured in AUJ, too.

That was the normal soundtrack...

...and it was not leaked, it was legitimately streamed by Empire.

new Rolling Stone article includes full length tracks for listening

http://www.rollingstone.com/...es-premiere-20121130

They're streaming the soundtrack, too (regular edition).. but I can't tell yet how long the clips are.

edit to add: it appears they are full length

Well... who needs the regular version, it was already fully available on Empire.

Is the Empire stream still available?

I thought that was down now.

The Rolling Stone article is new. That warranted a link. The streaming is gravy.

Not everyone caught the stream the last time or had time to listen to it (I didn't).

The original post of this thread was linking to 90 seconds, I thought people would enjoy full length tracks.

I'm not sure if you meant for your post to come off as ungracious as it sounds.

Water Tower's surprise

I'm guessing that the full soundtrack posted on Rolling Stone was the "soundtrack surprise" referred to on Water Tower's twitter account. Thanks for the link!

Can someone help

Does anyone know what the title of the song is from the first trailer after the dwarves sing "Misty Mountains"? Is it on the soundtrack? Also, Shore started playing it during the latest post-production vlog.

CD-quality...

And people have put much effort into making this soundtrack... I always buy CD's that I like, even soundtracks that are worth listening to without the movie. I would suggest others to do the same Smile

Thanks! I'm enjoying it right now while the kitten takes a nap on my lap. //

-Tim came by. Tim! If you had heard only a quarter of what I have heard about him, and I have only heard very little of all there is to hear, you would be prepared for any sort of remarkable tale.

so I think this is the 'treat' they were hinting at.

It's on various parts of the soundtrack

Some faster, some slower. One super fast! Laugh I'm not sure what song titles they were though. I'm sorry. Unsure

If you meant the instrumental version of that same melody...

then it's not really a 'song'. It can be a track on a CD or a theme.

I haven't listened to the full, extended version of the music yet (was too busy when it was streaming) but I'm trying to listen to the Rolling Stone regular version that's available at the moment.

If Shore made it a theme, then it could easily be heard more than once but it's in the track, Blown Away. If I hear it again, I'll let you know.

Blown away over the hills.

I'm not sure why they have it listed as "Blown Away". Elsewhere, the track is called "The World Ahead", which sounds more suitable.

The main version of the theme seems to be that which appears in "Over Hill". It sounds like a counterpart of the version of "The Fellowship" theme which plays when the Fellowship is travelling through Hollin.

I think it's to this film,

as the fellowship theme was to LotR :)
It will occur several times during the trilogy in different versions Wink

Early Christmas Present

Today a co-worker of mine who happeneds to be in the 'critic association' or whatever it's called gave me the score to The Hobbit. It had been sent to him for awards consideration.
The entire thing wasn't there...it seems they wanted to keep off some of the familiar material from LOTR. But I'm also pretty sure that there is some stuff on it that wasn't on the empire stream a couple weeks ago.
Anyway, it was kind of a cool gift
