I watch Survivor anyhow...

...I just have to remember not to channel surf during commercials.

I saw my first Hobbit tv spot on tv last night.

8 EST / 7 CST

That means 8:00 pm east coast which is the same time as 7:00 pm central (Chicago, Minneapolis). Then it runs later (I think) for Mountain and Pacific and points west.

Eastern Standard Time (EST) = GMT-5

Here's an event announcer that converts for other time zones.

I'm recording it!

To make sure I see it!

I don't watch Survivor, but I figure this is a special night.

Actually, the only reason I'm watching the Hobbit feature is so I have an excuse to watch Survivor!

Just kidding. Tongue I'm DVR'ing it...the Entertainment Tonight directly proceeding it is supposed to have a TH story as well, which I'm also DVR'ing.

My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit"
5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

Thank you Comcast!

Despite my on-screen guide claiming ET had a feature on TH, no such luck.

Quite surprised and annoyed by the Survivor "preview", however!

Me too

I was really hoping we would get a third trailer.. The other LOTR had them and they were always my favourite!

Well that was a let down...

I thought for sure it would be more than just a new tv spot. :( A few new shots, but nothing more. Too bad.

That was awesome!

A couple of new shots mixed with old but it was just dang cool to see that on TV. Now, I just need someone to post it to YouTube so I can save it.

Okay, in case it's hard to tell from the posts...

the 'sneak preview' came almost immediately upon the show starting (it might have been the first commercial) and it looked to me like one of the trailers. If there was anything new, it was so quick I didn't catch it but then again, I don't have the trailers memorized so I'm not the best person to say.

Then later, there was a tv spot. Again, I didn't see anything new but see above for caveat.

For me, it was enjoyable but I'm glad I wasn't anticipating anything *NEW*.

I can remember the first time I saw the Ents striding towards Isengard in the tv spots leading up to TTT's release. I literally stood up and shouted.

There was no shouting tonight. :-)

That's too bad.

WB certainly seems to have a different approach than New Line in these things. Of course, with FOTR they had to get the images out there to stir up interest because it was not considered anything like a guaranteed hit - with TH, they know people want to see them and they seem more interested in teasing while giving away as little as possible. But it's not as much fun for us.

It was a medly of several trailers - TV and Movie

I've definitely never seen all of this footage together in one place, which was nice. However, I've seen most of the bits and pieces before, and as I haven't had time to watch *all* the TV spots, I imagine the stuff that was new to me probably wasn't really 'new.'

It was a delight to watch, but I think it was essentially geared towards non-fanatics like us LaughCool who maybe haven't seen the movie trailers and/or all of the TV ads.

The ad later in the show was TV trailer #6.

Is this the one that aired?

http://uk.eonline.com/...k-peek-at-the-hobbit

There's a new shot of the the dwarves about to cross the bridge to Rivendell at the very end.

I can't get it to play

I don't know if it's my adblock (which I tried to turn off) or the fact that I've been having problems with flash (it's been crashing Chrome like mad).

That's it.

Not a bad promo in itself, just disappointing to be labeled a "sneak peak" when the only new shot was the dwarves arriving in Rivendell.
