Special Sneak Peek during Survivor on CBS this Wednesday.
I just saw an advertisement on CBS that said there would be a special sneak peek of An Unexpected Journey during Survivor on Wednesday.

Third trailer maybe? Smile (They did that during the season premiere of Angel on the WB back in 2001 for the final FotR trailer).

I don't usually watch Survivor...
...but when I do it has middle earth attached to it :)

They wouldn't advertise for a trailer that's already been out for a while.
It'll be some kind of new footage, or behind the scenes material.

Blush Okay, i'll watch Survivor but i'm not getting my hopes up.Footage seen on the internet, has not yet been seen on TV, so it could very just well be the second trailer and some BTS footage.

I'm not sure that can be assumed
The trailers haven't been running on tv, have they? I mean, the tv spots are but I haven't heard the trailers are. So, I can see someone making a big deal of out footage that some people who don't follow Hobbit news on the internet like hawks (or don't go to certain full price movies) might not have seen. The trailer is not new to us but it very well could be to people watching Survivor.

This morning, Classic FM was advertising they'd have the exclusive first play of Howard Shore's soundtrack for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

It was not the first play of the soundtrack and it was not exclusive.

People will, as far as I can tell, pretty much say anything to hype up what they have.

Yeah, but...
the Empire.com stream of the soundtrack just got put out in the past week. Classic FM claiming they had a first listen can be excused as an oversight. But the 2nd theatrical trailer came out two whole months ago. Why air it on television only just now, advertised as a "special sneak peek"? I can't recall an instance when a sneak peek has been run on tv, where it was something that had already been put out months earlier.

I'll gladly eat my words if this is just the 2nd trailer, but I find it highly improbable.

I can't clearly remember
what the "special sneak peek" of LOTR was, but I think it wasn't a standard trailer and did include some new material. So I am expecting something other than a mere repeat of what we've already seen. The question is, will I remember to watch on Thurs?

Thursday won't help... it's on Wednesday!
I still think of Survivor as being a Thursday show, too.

My only point was... we can't assume it's not a trailer. The statement was pretty firm that it wouldn't be.

Plus, I've been a bit annoyed by all the 'exclusive' things coming out that aren't that exclusive. And although I can't point to something to prove it, I've noticed that word being used a lot lately about stuff that isn't exclusive. I'm starting to not trust the hype.

But I watch Survivor and all I'll have to remember is to not change the channel during commercials. In fact, I was watching Amazing Race tonight and I didn't see the promo. Because I was switching to the Dust Bowl for commercials.

Well there you go; I don't watch any midweek shows regularly anymore and I stopped watching Survivor several seasons back so I'm completely out of touch. Tongue I missed half the AR promo tonight myself, as I usually mute commercials but what I saw of it looked like bits of things we've already seen.

Dunno what we'll get since we are dealing with WB this time around instead of New Line. I just wanted to mention that last time it was more than just a repeat and therefore might be worth watching for, in case.

I hate to say this
If you guys want my advice... watch survivor.

They did something similar with The Dark Knight Rises is the weeks leading up to it. They said there would be a special little presentation or whatever during the MTV movie awards (I think).

Anyway, it was like a trailer but it showed a lot of new footage and stuff, and it was a completely new trailer.

But the most important bit of info to take away from it is that IT WAS NOT PUT ONLINE AND WB WAS QUICK TO SHUT DOWN BOOTLEG VERSIONS OF IT.

So my advice is just watch survivor and record it and whatnot, so you can watch it over and over.

which probably reached far more people who were listening casually, than the subscribers to EMPIRE online, or fans diligently following every single scrap of news! Wink

Special sneak peaks on tv
I don't live in USA and thus don't have these channels, but I do remember that ABC Family (I think) did have a big special preview for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, and that was as far as I know totally new and had not been shown on the internet.


The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

the low tech way...
is to use your camera/phone to video your television screen as it plays. I've seen it done on youtube even though the comments are never kind! :-)

Sneak peeks like this usually take one scene that has already been glimpsed in the trailers, but expands it to a greater length than the trailers have displayed.

The Entertainment Tonight preceding Survivor at 7:30 ALSO says it will have an AUJ feature...
I assume this is separate from the preview airing sometime between 8-9. I also have have both set to be DVR'd, but don't know how to get it onto my computer either. Tongue

5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

I doubt it's a trailer.
We would have heard something about a new trailer by now, i think. A behind the scenes look and maybe a short clip from the movie would be my guess.
