TV spot #5: analysis of new frames

As I made an analysis of the trailer 5 for our Russian site, I'd like to share it here. Frames of new scenes we see in the TV spot #5:

Previously, we only saw wargs in movement during night scenes. This time it's broad daylight. The warg is attacking Dori (there is also Bofur to the right).

Continuation of the previous shot: the warg attacks Dori quite furiously. In the background is either Nori, or Gloin.
The whole scene is probably just after Trollshaw (the color timing fits Bilbo pulling out Sting). That scene was also suggested by the soundtrack tracklist.

Thorin attacks one of the trolls and hits him at his hand with a sword. Alas, it's no Orcrist.

The troll reacts furiously. We see that he has a leucoma on the left eye. However, we don't know yet if it is Tom, Bert or William. What we do know is that the trolls keep their English names in the film.

The goblins are about to attack. In the background, probably, Goblin-Town or its outskirts.

A beautiful shot of Galadriel at night. Does she stand on that balcony all the time? ;)

I'm not sure if this shot is new. Two stone giants are fighting; the left one gives the right one a right hook, so that he falls down.

Fighting Dwarvish Elegance. One of the dwarves spins around, as he hacks at the goblins Legolas-style. As for the blonde hair, it might be Fili.

A shot from an alternative trailer #2 "Sting" version. Balin is unsure if Sting is in fact a sword.

Bilbo is not sure either.

They seem to still having plates on their table as they are discussing weapons.

Very nice elvish lights or vessels on a shelf behind Balin!

The guy to Bilbo's left is probably Fili (blonde hair).

I'm not sure if this shot is new, but I don't recall seeing it.

Thorin and Warg

In one of the new tie-in books, it says Thorin is shaken about while in a Warg's mouth - I wonder if that takes place with the first shots you linked.

It doesn't say.

It actually comes from the Richard Armitage interviews.

The Fighting Dwarvish Elegance guy.......

is without a doubt Thorin, because I don't think that Thorin would borrow Fili Orcrist and his fur coat, even though he's his nephew. It's only the light that makes his hair look blonde.

That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!
So, carefully! Carefully with the plates!

Updates...

As I cannot edit the original post anymore, here some updates:

One shot I have overseen:

Kili is shooting from his bow. Similar to a shot from the first trailer, but it is a different take. The frame shows actually more. Looks like Trollshaws to me.

One shot there is a correction for:

The mighty fightin' dwarf is of course Thorin with Orcrist. Thanks to all for pointing it out.

If there is one thing...

...I take with me from these tv-spots, it is, that 48 fps cannot come quickly enough. Unsure
So much motion blur makes the action sequences irritating to watch. Seeing this on the big screen with 48 fps will finally do those fast paced camera movements justice.

Amen to that!

They still haven't anounced a pre-sale date here in Denmark.. It is getting on my nerves not knowing when to start queing, and even worse, what if I miss the whole thing!!!
Maybe this is just an evil dream and I will wake up the 12th of December and realise this is 2011 and the 1st trailer hasn't even come out...

I called Imperial in Cph

And they couldn't give me a definitive date, but reckoned the last week of November. Also I think that it will be 3d, 48fps, 4k there from 12th Dec. I've only been working in Copenhagen for a couple if months now (commuting from Sweden); how does Imperial usually release tickets? Will we have to queue or can we just buy online? Also, I gather that it's a pretty high-end cinema; how much do you think the tickets will cost? Will people be dressed up for the premier?

As I understand it, none of the Swedish cinemas can offer 48fps, so I'm far more interested in Imperial.

That is flippin' late..

Imperial do have the best cinema experience in Copenhagen imo, with the largest screens and newest technology. I am definetly going there for my first viewing.

I did some quick research and it seems like, atleast for the last Twilight movie, you have to turn up in person to get the ticket, no online purchase. As for the ticket prices I really have no clue.
People are really excited about the movies and I would expect some people will dress up for the premiere (I will propably be going as a Dwarf! Cool )

I wonder if they sped up some of the action to take advantage of the hfr...

Just imagine if they can fit more action into a shorter time span without losing clarity. Like "bones" jones and his ever-active fists, elbows, knees, and feet.

Gollum looks menacing

Sort of puts to rest those claims that he'll be playful with Bilbo. He's a freaking Psycho!.BTW, Kili is looking very stocky and perfectly Dwarven, in that shot where he fires an arrow.Wink

We are more connected than ever before, more able to spread our ideas and beliefs, our anger and fears. As we exercise the right to advocate our views, and as we animate our supporters, we must all assume responsibility for our words and actions before they enter a vast echo chamber and reach those both serious and delirious, connected and unhinged.
