Her job is to follow the Kings' orders without question...but has a strong will and unyielding passion for what she believes to be right. So in other words we can assume that at some point she disobeys the king's orders (and I'm guessing here) to help or at least not kill the dwarves. I smell yet another Jackson invented story arc designed to tick another audience profile box. Shoehorning in a strong female fighting role where none exists and sell more toys in the process.

For a good laugh, read some of the character descriptions put out by the TV network for the original "Star Trek" series (they can be found in the book "The Making of Star Trek" by Stephen Whitfield). Mr Spock was described as "...probably half Martian, he has the strongest curiosity about anything "alien" .." Don't mess with my favorite female elf.

They had all but the 6" Bilbo. The 3.75" Bilbo is probably the worst of the lot, while the 6" is one of the best (at least from the images). I feel they are inconsistent as to quality of likeness and details on the whole. I bought the 6" Thorin without any reservations, but with Gandalf I'll wait to see if they make something better (I still have my ToyBiz versions after all). Legolas and Tauriel didn't charm me into a purchase (in either scale). The Hobbit Photo Gallery

Toy manufacturers always release "see-through" (unpainted) toys as "limited editions" (faulty models) if they can find an excuse to do so. Iron man had a "holographic" model, for example. DarkJackal Rohan Oct 6 2012, 1:42pm Views: 1587 Blame it on the paint job Ms. Tauriel's innate charms were hampered by a weird application of too much red/pinkish tint to her head. It may have just been the limited selection I had to look at, but it was much worse than the prototype. They seem to have done similar with Gollum and the Goblin king. Just take away the crazy pink accents and the figures would come out okay. With Legolas the shape of his head seemed off. The Hobbit Photo Gallery
