This year's fall aspen photos ("Lothlorien")

They're not too different from last year's or the year before's :-D But here they are: Lothlorien

Ah! Like gold fall the leaves in the wind!

I dunno, I think they're a bit more "brilliantly" gold this year!

What made me look twice was the waterfall picture. At first it looked like someone had scattered gold doubloons all around! Laugh

Thank you, Aunt Dora! Smile

What surprised me this year

was the aspen leaves in the fir trees. They looked like Christmas ornaments. And you're right, the colors seemed especially vibrant this year.

Wow you live in such a beautiful place!

Lovely golden coloured trees. Makes me want to be there kicking the leaves on the ground like when i was young, haha.

Beautiful!

And mountains, Gandalf, mountains! Smile Good to see you and Uncle B, too.

Thank you so much---I needed something soothing this morning.

Me too - I did a double take on that one

I did think for a moment it was an already-decorated Christmas tree!

Beautiful photos - thanks for adding a few moments of "Oooooh" to the day :-).

Absolutely Gorgeous, Aunt Dora.

Thanks for sharing.

I traveled through the Sierra Nevada just north of Lake Tahoe (Nevada/California) last weekend, and the trees were just starting to turn in the higher elevations. So beautiful.

I always find delight with your pictures,

especially your aspen ones. My favorite one this year is the one you deemed 'stained glass'. Next year i will beg for a video of them in their 'quaking' state:).

Oh, thank you! Almost as good as a visit.

Each one of these is an absolute work of art.

Amazing that Tolkien (I'm guessing) never saw aspens like this--or do they have them in England?

It looks so exactly like he described, at least to me.

He traveled in Switzerland.

I bet they have them there.

Had to go look, and they do! Here's a link:

They look "thicker" as far as the density of the number of leaves. Maybe they get more moisture over there?
