The Hunt for Birdge Direct Figures

I'm wondering if anyone has had their preorders of the 6" Bridge Direct figures ship from Amazon? Mine (Thorin, Bilbo, and Gandalf) haven't shipped yet and they are showing them as sold out. The Toys R Us is out of them online as well (except for Thorin). I did get lucky and notice Toys R Us selling Legolas and Tauriel online before October 1st and those arrived on my doorstep Saturday. I thought I'd look in the stores in case the preprder falls through, but none of the stores in my area have any 6" figures in stock. The store closest to me I don't believe has gotten them at all. They put all the 3.75" figures out yesterday morning (10/1) but there aren't even pegs yet for the 6" figures. Maybe shipment of the 6" figures is lagging behind the smaller ones? I'd love to hear what kind of luck other collector's here have been having?

Amazon

My orders for amazon have been delayed. Not sure when they're going to get them but if I find them in store or TRU is still showing them in sock ill just grab them from TRU.

Amazon

Yeah, I just ordered Thorin from TRU since they still showed him in stock. I cancelled the order for him at Amazon and noticed that the delivery they are showing for Gandalf and Bilbo is now between 11/5-11/28.

Hmmmm

My Legolas and Tauriel arrived today (from TRU). I preordered Thorin, Gandalf and Bilbo from them as well... now Gandalf and Bilbo are on backorder and Thorin hasn't shipped yet. I'm probably just going to go to TRU tonight and see if I can find them in person. I hoped to avoid the hassle by preordering them...

Though, on the bright side, the better this line sells through, the higher the chances of longevity and character selection! I'll take a minor delay for that trade-off!!!

ps. i'm only collecting the 6" figures.

I agree

I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad the 6" figures are selling well. They seem to be producing so much for the 3.75" line I was concerned they might eventually drop the 6" ones or not make all the characters if they didn't do as well. The delay is fine, so long as I can eventually find them without having to resort to ebay. I managed to largely avoid the secondary market back in the the Toybiz LOTR days so I have my fingers crossed for this time around!

Said they wouldn't be on the shelves until the 7th. Sheesh!

unopened cases

I went to my local TRU and looked all over the place. I couldn't find a single scrap of anything Hobbit related. I asked an associate who asked another associate (over the radio) if they had any. The second associate was in the middle of telling her they didn't have any when they were interrupted by the manager saying "yes, we have those". You could tell that the manager was pretty peeved that they hadn't come out on monday when they were supposed to. So, he brought out fresh, unopened cases and let me dig through them to find whatever I wanted!!

I bought all of the 6" figures and boy oh boy... I love them! They are easily as nice as any of the Toybiz LOTR figures. There are some size issues (Tauriel is TINY) and a few minor quibbles with articulation, but overall the quality is fantastic! The paint apps are good, the likenesses are mostly decent, and the accessories are awesome! I'm really impressed with The Bridge Direct's intro to The Hobbit line!

The 3.75" figures were very nice too, but I'm not collecting in that scale. From what I could tell, they were high-quality figures too.

Great!

Glad to hear they look good in person. I'm too picky to order them online, must see them in hand.

Future waves?

It's probably too early to tell, but has anyone heard of any future waves? The 1st wave seems successful enough so hopefully they have a wave 2 ready to go.

It will happen

I guarantee it will happen. There are too many things to do for it to be one wave.

Was curious...are Gandalf and Legolas also out of scale with Thorin and Bilbo like Tauriel, or are they properly scaled? And can anyone post photos of Legolas and Gandalf in particular and perhaps alongside some Toybiz LOTR figures just to see how they mesh.

Scale

They all seem to be in proper scale from what I've seen.

Yeah, I think Tauriel is the only one that seems short (although I'm still waiting for Gandalf to ship so I don't know about him). But they do all seem to be a little shorter than their counterpart Toybiz figures. Tauriel is actually shorter than Eowyn. Unless someone beats me to it, I'll post a picture later with TBD and Toybiz figures side by side.

My TRU still hasn't gotten the 6" figures, even though they have everything else. Amazon is showing them in stock now though, so if you haven't been able to find them you might want to take a look.
