What Age of Middle Earth would you liked to have lived in?

And furthermore where would you have lived in that age?

I'd have to choose between Numenor during its golden age before the fall or The Shire fourth age. And being lazy I'd definitely opt for The Shire. Laugh

First Age

There's so many exciting things happening and too many beautiful places! I don't know if I could narrow it down. Menegroth. Gondolin. Nargothrond. Dor-lomin. The Land of the Dead that Live. Nevrast. And, oh, Nan-tathren!

First age in Beleriand, even though it's a masochistic choice

The best ending we could dream of would be bitter sweet melancholy where only most of us die. But even that is stretching it. Most likely scenario - and the likely and the almost likely - would be that we all die in some horrible way when we're still young.

At least we would have had liven interesting lives.

But every word you say today
Gets twisted 'round some other way
And they'll hurt you if they think you've lied

And I would've toured Beleriand, unless I got waylaid by Orcs Unsure

After a quick read up

(I know very little about earlier ages). It would have to be Third Age for me. Despite being slightly embarrassed to announce it here, I would want to be a ranger and go on errantry. I could so do that. Cool

Fourth Age

The tower of Orthanc would do nicely for me I think, though it would be quite frightening spending the night there alone.

Years of the trees

As one of the first born - perhaps even as the character my username is Tongue though i would volunteer to go to Valinor and then become leader and be king of all the elves lol.

I would mingle with the valar and maiar. I would secretly join the Noldor and come to ME, leaving Ingwe to keep my throne warm until i had enough of ME sometime around the fourth age! That way i get to experience most things Cool

All of the above

I'd like to be born in the Years of the Trees and continue to be alive...well, indefinitely, really. Why have some when you can have all? I'd like to use that time to experience as much as possible.

YT as well

I would learn skills, crafts and lore from the Valar which could then be used throughout the ages in ME to fight, rebuild, counsel, etc. From Lorien, one could travel to Arnor or Gondor. Possiblities would be endless, really. Unless I were to be killed by a stray bullet. Tongue

Middle-earth

I hesitated between the first age and the fourth. I had to make only one choice so I decided to go with the Fourth Age... Simply because it's a time of utter peace and Middle-earth is free from the darkness. I would probably find myself in Mirkwood or Bree. A quiet place where I could do my little things.

But if my choice was the First Age, I would probably be in Beleriand, within the girdle of Melian in Doriath.

First Age...

regardless of all the wars that took place, there were also many great things made and done during that age. I would have lived in Gondolin.

But in Lindon Gil-Galad still maintained his power, and Sauron dared not as yet to pass the Mountains of Ered Luin nor to assail the Havens.
