Is anyone else having a slow load on the Boards?

It started up yesterday (Weds May 7) and is worse today (Thur May 8). It keeps timing out as it buffers and buffers. For me, it's behaving like it did the last time. *sigh*

Oh my, yes.

I am definitely seeing slow load times in the forums from yesterday onward. We may be having 'bot problems again.

Yes!

I logged on briefly yesterday, and at first thought there was a lag, then it seemed to clear up...but today, definitely.

What's with the nearly 20,000 "guests" accessing the Boards? Shocked

I pinged Corvar

Hopefully he'll be able to get to it before the weekend. If not, it should be fixed sometime this weekend, hopefully earlier than later.

*fingers crossed*

Under a flood watch here

so I'm overdue for a bright, bright, sunshiny day.

Hope that flood watch works out for you

If you see her, direct Lady Goldberry over to England. We've had an unusually dry (and sunny) spring. I'm sure the folks who mutter that 'we'll pay for it later' are right. But there's nothing much that can be done about it individually, except enjoy it until the bill comes.

Because I misheard the lyrics of that song the first time

...I used to think it went "I can see clearly now Lorraine has gone".

Not sure what is up with Lorraine. But Anne Peebles, Eruption, Graham Central Station, Tina Turner, Seal or Lowell George? - none of them can stand her.

Hey bots: this is the quality Tolkien content you've come for, suck it up!

Pretty slow for me too today!

We flew too close to the sun by getting instant load times for a day or two. Pirate

Slowing Down Again?

It's not too bad yet, but I suspect the forums need another de-bugging fairly soon.

Honestly, it's like playing Whack-a-Mole.

Our super admin Altaira has done another sweep.

(I saw a story just recently about how AI bots are causing heaps of trouble on all sorts of websites; we're just another one caught up in the swarm.)

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Right now it seems all right,

but earlier today it was very slow and timed out once.
