traffic

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that we're getting a large amount of traffic at the moment, in terms of views of posts and new registered members? Not a complaint, I hasten to add, just an observation!

All those guests and their "bad actions"

will we ever get all the graffiti scraped off the front lobby doors?

Forth, Swifties!

Funny to imagine that's probably what the traffic would look like here (if not even much heavier) if Taylor Swift posted, say, a photo of her reading LOTR.

View Bots?

While it would be nice to think that my latest artwork actually generated 30,000 views in two days, I suspect that someone may be using a bot program. I was able to write and test such a program using only six lines of Python code, so it would have been very easy.

Don't mess with my favorite female elves.

ha!

Reckon you might be right! Even my original post, with the exciting title "traffic" has nearly 50K 'views'. Suspect even a post titled "watching paint dry appreciation society: fwd look spreadsheet" would rack up a few thousands hits at the moment!

six lines of Python code, you say?

Bother! I thought that to develop a cute bot you had to do years of squats or the Jane Fonda workout or similar. Well, I'll be cancelling by gym membership and learning to code instead...

I daren't

That's a very nice verse!

But I don't think I'll try one. I remember being part way through writing I Can Do It With A Broken Sword when some people came to the door and were very insistent that I came with them because we were 'late for make-up'.

And the Head Of Wardrobe was already in tears because they wouldn't be able to let out that sparkly swimsuit costume that much, or make a bigger one in time.

I was just glad that we got the misunderstanding cleared up before they wanted me to do a soundcheck. Or before I had to go and watch a game of American Football (which, as a British Citizen, I am legally obliged to pretend it's impossible to understand.)

We do, in fact, change American football rules when we know British are watching

so sometimes a touchdown is worth 6 points, and sometimes it's worth 4 partridges in a pear tree, and sometimes it's worth a psychedelic haiku.

Time

We also promise the game has only two minutes left when it really will be another 30 minutes plus commercials.

I despise (American) football.
