I must go with Boromir. Thorin and Haldir's death scenes are also very touching. In the "other" category, possibly Hector's death in "Troy," or Uncas' death in the '90s version of "Last of the Mohicans," I dunno. The noble sacrifice to save others is probably the best way to go, IMO. But the truth is, I HATE most death scenes because you get some (in most cases) hammy goodbye speech - sometime I want to shout "just die already!" Of course, Thorin & Boromir are notable exceptions to that rule. Now, just to be obnoxious, how 'bout a poll on "Death scene you most looked forward to?"
