... is TIME. But grammatically speaking... shouldn't it be "It is almost time" ? I am no good at math, so the rest is just Greek to me... but I'll take a guess at what DAY it is... the 24th?

This was also posted by Mr. Del Toro himself on his own message boards, so i'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that this is the same person! I hope you decide to stick around here and visit again from time to time.

The way I origionally interpreted it, "moon day" was Monday, but then he talked "add each day of the week" coupled with "four days" meant that the Announcement would come Thurs or Fri (maximum weekend Online discussion time for fans.) But then this sounded puzzling b/c such a huge announcement, corporate-wise, would run counter to the Media News Cycle. Most major Media stories, when the White House wants to release one, or some big local news story, would be to release them on a Monday morning, for maximum weekly media exposure. The Eliot Spitzer scandal hit the headlines on Monday morning. A lot of scandals do. Then I saw Kimi's "time zone" explanation and it makes sense!!!! An Announcement on Sunday, 7 PM LA time ("joined with" 2 PM NZ time) would give the story maximum Hollywood media exposure, since it would hit the headlines Monday morning. 7 PM LA time (10 PM Eastern Daylight Time) Sunday night, and the news will be global by midnight. Which means it would hit the Reuters, AP wires etc by early Monday morning. Then Del Toro's "more each day of the week"/every 24 hrs means that after the story breaks on Monday (or Tuesday in the Hollywood Trades---Variety, etc) more details will be added daily, in the peak weekday news cycle. We'd learn more each day in the Trades about the Lawsuit resolution, etc etc. PJ and GDT are timing a joint news conference/Announcement, esp if they are going to be revealing potential casting decisions, to let fans know they are working in sync.So no controversy, right from the get-go. And they appear to be doing this to take advantage of the Weekly Media Cycle. Which may or may not be a Warner's/NL corporate directive. That's my thought. We shall see! Oh, and again, welcome, GDT, since it really does seem to be you!

Oh no. I've been bitten again by the Pulp Fiction bug. I could quote this movie all day--I know almost every line. Hehe Mr. Cere! Glad I didn't see this last night, or I would have quoted Pulp Fiction all night. You chose the only clean line of the movie, it seems

...I was skeptical last night when we talked but it looks like I can shed the cynicism that comes from seeing too many hoaxsters online. This is great fun, I must admit. And even though I don't know much about Del Toro as a director (I have seen Hellboy but not being a huge comic book fan, it isn't high on my list of movies I love. Haven't seen any others)... I do think I like him very much as a person. I think he'd be fun to play with and I guess we'll get the chance to find out. Welcome, Guillermo. (sorry I got your post moved from movie to off topic... I didn't see the movie connection at the time. But you got way more exposure on this board. Trust me.)

Kimi was the one who really broke the Riddle.See her posts. I could never have figured that out! And Magpie....hear hear on skepticism. But I just checked the link and yup, GDT has posted the exact same Riddle in his Messageboard. I know it is him there, b/c I've been reading his site for a long time and every time he posts, his log-on ID looks the same. And you HAVEN'T seen Pan's Labyrinth? OR listened to the DVD Commentary? My gosh, you HAVE to! Why the heck are some of us erstwhile "PJ directing" (and deep down inside, still "PJ directing, I wish") fans so excited about? Get thee to a video store asap! Aaargh. There go my plans for the evening.

Yes, today is Full Moon Day, and if there were to be joint announcements in two timezones spanning the globe (US and NZ), well, Sunday in the US is Monday in NZ, now isn't it? The rest of the numbers, no clue, makes my head hurt too much.
It's really great to have you here. Hope to see you often. BTW, congratulations in advance! I have another take on this, you all... today is full moon. It *could* be the Moon Day. Of course it could be tomorrow as well. It is either today or tomorrow, that much I can tell you! Ok, so it's Sunday or Monday at ten minus three: 7:00 pm Then more information (joining to be) is coming every day (24 hours = two dozen princes) of this week at ten minus eight: 2:00 pm Peace, Love and Rock & Roll, Garfeimao The orange stripey One Cruise to Middle earth

that people smarter than me have attempted to figure out the riddle! I'm looking forward to the reveal. WG

I bought Pan's Labyrinth (the special edition) for my son's Christmas present. I'm just being a bit wimpy about the violence I heard hinted at. I'm perhaps especially sensitive to violence against children. And frankly, just have watching the downer movies Atonement and Masterpiece Theater's Room with a View knocked my mood for a wallop. It's kind of on my list to see PL. I just have to find the right time, I guess. and just for the record.. I'm not an erstwhile "PJ directing" fan. I liked his version of LOTR - in some respects, very much. I'd be happy to have him direct. But I've maintained from the beginning that I would entertain the thought of someone else doing it quite easily. In fact, the current running theme between myself and good friend is: sometimes the universe wants to show you something it thinks is really cool and that you'd really like... but you have to leave the spot you're in and walk to a new one to see it. Will you do it?

You're right there. PL IS a downer, of major proportions....plotwise. That is due to its setting more than anything else. But there are numerous redeeming elements as well, and if there weren't, if there was not light and truth and eternal beauty--IMO< for the cinematic AGES in it, no one would watch it over and over.... As to "what if he was looking"...well, I was joking!!!!! I'm not going to be scanning "who's online"! . I imagine as once he becomes aware of that TORn function, he may seek Admin ways to have an end around that, or he'd be mobbed. Plus, he will be soon be VERY busy, VERY quickly. As if he isn't busy enough wrapping up HBII already. As for attirudes to directing...we're probably more similar in opinion on this than not. And now, I HAVE to get off here a while, I have things to do, and esp things to wrap up before 10 PM tonight! Can you feel the excitement??????? Later

I've already clicked on Kimi's answer (whew) so I'll just say Welcome to Torn!! Standing by now for the Moon-day revelation. a.s.
"an seileachan" "Good night, little girls, thank the Lord you are well! Now go to sleep" said Miss Clavel. And she turned out the light and shut the door, And that's all there is. There isn't any more.

Welcome to TORN! We're all really excited at the prospect of your talents and artistic vision being brought to The Hobbit story, and wish you all the best in directing the films. If on the journey you can drop by now and then with some news and thoughts for us, then that would be fantastic .
