I'd say Monday's a good bet when you consider del Toro is Spanish...

... and Monday in Spanish is Lunes and Luna in Spanish is moon. So, yeah, it's a safe bet that it'll happen on Monday... I thought maybe it would be at midnight since "two dozen princes" equals 24, which would bring us to midnight... but the rest of the riddle has me stumped. I'll leave the number-crunching to you math geeks... just wake me when it's time to hoot and holler.

Which timezone? Well, I'm ecstatic that GDT is visiting TORN; the LOTR films always succeeded because of the relationship with the fans (it was made by fans for fans, not just a movie project, but art) "We must away ere break of day to find our long forgotten gold" ***We've been waiting for far too long for The Hobbit. Last LOTR we got was Fall 2004 with ROTK Extended Edition. So its been three and a half years. But as soon as GDT is officially signed up, Weta will INSTANTLY start making new concept art and designs and EVERY DAY we'll be visiting TORN again to get lots of joy out of even the tiniest piece of news. How will then handle so many Dwarves? Hobbit is more Dwarf-centric. Will the Great Eagles get a design overhaul? (They weren't a "Showcast creature" in LOTR so they didn't have the best of CGI) will the Eagles talk? Will we see the White Countil? Will we see Legolas? Will you cast David Bowie as King Thranduil? (He was up for Elrond but didn't get the part) what casting is being thought of? How will you do Beorn the Skin-Changer? What of the Old-Norse based Men of Dale? And SMAUG! How will Smaug the snarky evil dragon be realized? ****In keeping with the emphasis that Weta has had on REALISM in past LOTR films......will Smaug's Dwarf-gold hoarde....be made of real gold? ^_^
"Pleased to meet you, hope you guessed my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game" Formerly known on TORN as "Draug the Unspeakably Violent"

For any of you in doubt, yes, that's El Maestro himself. He hangs out on Del Toro Films with us, and is at present very active on the HELLBOY II boards as well. I'm here in anticipation of G getting the get-go on this, and I have so many bits of me crossed it's getting bloomin' painful, dagnabbit. :D HM The Doug Jones Experience http://www.thedougjonesexperience.com

Or as we Tolkien fans say, "Mae Govannen!" From a longtime lurker on the DTF Messageboards. I had a strong suspish it was him...glad to be proven right. I LOVE your response to the Riddle on there..."tricksy Director", yes, yesss indeed! Hope you'll find time to drop in here a few more times as well! This is going to be news ALL OVER the planet in less than 24 hrs, and then it's going to be a CIRCUS around here. So glad you can witness the explosion for yourself. Hop on the wagon and join the fun. I just hope the site doesn't crash..... HM, you have no IDEA how long we have been waiting, and after all the false stops and starts, all the lawsuit and corporate drama, we despaired we'd never see this moment. It's this that STILL makes me cautious to the last. But this time, I really think it isn't a false alarm! I had plans for tonight but find it hard to turn the computer off or leave the house. So *sigh* it begins....

Part of my brain is still frozen, and the head-rush from this MASSIVE TEASE has my eyes still fuzzy... so I'll just stand aside and blink stupidly while the worthies here who can think clearly in the face of an impending MAJOR SQUEEEE SESSION sort it all out. Mr. del Toro... Welcome :) I hope you know what you're in for! We tend to consume things whole when it comes to our Tolkien, our movies, and our filmic family... so consider yourself WARNED :D I guess the only thing I can say to your brilliant riddle... Our newest Wizard will arrive precisely when he means to, with words that will blow us all out of the water! I hope Peter's standing next to you when it hits. He always gets such a kick out of us; and he knows what's coming ;) I have to go have a good cry now. *warmest hug* Welcome, welcome, and thank you! *twitch*

And isn't it great when different fandoms get to geek out together?
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. I'm on my third copy of the trilogy, I practised my elven writing for years and I did so many copies of Bilbo's map it was disgusting. Gadzooks ... I think I'm a geek! I also live in hope that if G directs then there will be a part or three in the films for Doug Jones. And yes ... he's a tricksy director ... HM

Over on the Hellboy boards the same message was left but this time by somebody official, with an administrator's login. Sure wish we knew for sure. If we can confirm him we will have Altaira give the logon some official status (like "Director") so we can all know for sure. But with the same thing on the other board under an official log-in, seems pretty likely to be the real deal. Check it out here Don't worry - that's Guillermo. He has Admin status on the HBII boards. He has a great website, like I mentioned above. The guy is a human pretzel, HOW does he do it? And he and his Mrs. are adorable. Talk about opposites attracting! Get set for a round of "Smaug without eyes" jokes.... Anyway.... don't usually post this much, I *have to try to get some work done!!! But after more than 3 yrs of non-stop corporate drama, we may FINALLY be getting THE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!! HM, you have no idea what this means to us!!

Welcome to TORN forum Guillermo! I've been a lurker for years, but your riddle drew me, and I had to reply. Although most everyone has said some of my guesses so far. LOL The last segment really has me baffled though. So I await everyone's ideas! Firstly why would three be capitalized as is eight. Now that might just be a riddle quirk I don't know about. But like you all, the two dozen princes that die without winces has me stumped. Great to have all this action finally though and fun to read everyone's replies! I've been walking around the house all morning muttering the lines of the riddle to myself, trying to figure it all out. LOL Elda.. A riddle for you all-

It is conceivable that somebody could have seen the post there, which I agree is 100% GDT, and then come to this board, signed up and posted the same thing. I DO agree it is the real deal, but I would hate to find out later it was an impersonator and it is still possible.

There's something of everything here, The Shire and the Golden Wood and Gondor and kings' houses and inns and meadows and mountains all mixed. ....and there are Elves when you want them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Formerly A'amel from days gone by.

I have to admit I saw this post last night within minutes of it being posted. It didn't occur to me that it was actually Guillermo del Toro and I didn't have the energy or brainpower to try to figure it out then. I wish I'd given it a second or third thought. Anyway, welcome, Mr. del Toro! I'll be waiting and watching more closely from now on!

It talks about time in the first stanza.......and then it talks about information to be revealed in the second.......and in the third....possibly it means at 2pm in new zealand(monday) and 7pm(west coast time zone) in california......and then it says "And add to each day of the week." Possibly meaning new news will come out through the next week..... this is what i think.........
