Opening scene for BotFA? [In reply to]

I'm not sure if this has been asked on the boards...... it probably has, but I missed it....

What do we Thralls think might be the "prologue" or opening sequence of BotFA? You know how PJ usually goes for a flashback, something to fill in a bit of the story to this point. (the ROTK scene of Smeagol finding the Ring is a particular favourite of mine)

I'm hoping the film might start in Mirkwood, of course. Or it could show us what's going on in Dol Guldor, but my fingers are crossed for this being where we learn about Thranduil's wife. Would it be connected enough to the following straight-into-the-action scene, with Smaug swooping over Laketown?

Not got time to give this more thought right now as am dashing out the door to a dinner invitation.... but just wondering what peeps are imagining as a good opening sequence, before the mass viewing begins.

Smile

Well so much for that pondering... [In reply to]

(re my imagining of this film's "prologue".)

A thread title on the front page indicates there might not be one. Also, I browsed the Film Ink article today, which said me with "The movie opens with........ " thus spoiling me with the general place / characters we may see first.

Oh well. Unsure

     Well... [In reply to]

That's why I didn't reply to your post. I haven't seen the film yet of course, but I had read that there was no prologue and couldn't think how to answer without spoiling it for you in case you didn't want to know. Still wondering if there will be any explanation regarding the jewels belonging to his dead wife in the actual film.

Yes! OB's last line is from the FOTR when he is talking to Haldir in Lorien (can't remember the exact words).
