I am still strong and won't read spoilers but yeah, the Thranduil/Tauriel thing has me nervous. I'll still wait for the movie to find out what's going on there but I think I'm adding another tissue box to the pile now just in case. Re the site you read: Since the movie has now premiered, the poster *may* have seen it, but if I were you I'd take anything I read with a grain of salt just in case. Last year there were false rumors and reports on what was in DOS for quite some time after the premier, all from people saying they'd seen the movie and the majority were just people spreading false info to get attention. One rumor I specifically remember was saying that Oin got killed off. It was so widespread both my mom and aunt believed it because they had seen it in more than one place. Of course we've all seen DOS now and know it wasn't true and Oin is fine. So yeah, I'd say it's safe to not believe anything until it comes from a more reputable source or you see BOTFA yourself. Until I see BOTFA I think I'll put my nervous energy into my crochet so I don't look at spoilers. I just got a new dress to wear for Christmas and I've been working on a crochet shawl I need to finish before then if I want to wear them together.
"The skies don't seem to be as dark as usual The stars seem brighter than they've been before And deep within I feel my soul is stirring As though my hope has been restored. The shepherds say they've heard the voice of angels Confirming rumors spread across the land That a child protected well from Herod's anger Is our Father's Son and the Son of Man. Love is raining down on the world tonight There's a presence here I can tell God is in us, God is for us, God is with us, Emanuel." ~Amy Grant "God is With Us"

Is the reason for the Thranduil/Tauriel moment in the trailer a real shocker? Something we didn't expect? I don't want spoilers but now I'm really worried about it

Anyone having images of the various Mrs Elves, assorted Rohirrim Queens, Mrs Stewards, Mdm Rangers, Dwarven ladies, with Lobelia perhaps guest-starring, sitting around being snarky at each other? Imagine if an Easterling come popping in Melian would preside, and maybe the Valar might grace an episode or two on her account. ERU! That's another parody fic BEGGING to be written right there! I should stop here before I hurt myself *slinks off*

Thanks fellow thralls for all the lovely pics, will be keeping away till after I see BOFA which will be after I finish work so I can appreciate it without killing people. I went to see Mockingjay on opening and the rustling and people getting up drove me mad... See you on the other side!

Your efforts to bring this to us are greatly appreciated! (especially because now I don't have to wade through the cringe-worthy questions to find the good stuff.) For some reason, I find that Thranduil's favorite color is "clear" both amusing and insightful. I might use that line next time I'm asked that question. And he hates pie?! *rushes to change the TW fic I'm writing...* Re the 'would he take the Ring' question... yes I am also slightly confused by that. Technically, if he is replying accurately to the question, it's "would he resist it? Hell no!" But I'm leaning towards LP meaning that no, he definitely wouldn't take it. Unless we want to apply a "less wise, more dangerous" angle. Would he be tempted, as Galadriel was? But, as I think we discussed in an earlier thread, Thranduil would avoid it at all costs, and is less interested in achieving a powerful overlord status.

*eyes shining* Awww! Thanks so much for this! And I see from above pics that fan artists have been busy too. He does have a way of carelessly lounging on a throne, doesn't he. He always makes it look more comfortable than it probably is, which suggests he is ultra comfortable in his body, no matter where he is. And you'd have to be, to have reflexes like that. I wonder if he is just sitting around on this portable throne, perhaps meditating on a course of action, when not actively involved in something else (and hence Gandalf finds him such) or whether he instinctively knows when someone is coming, and sits down to receive them. Then again, it might be one of the only pieces of furniture in the tent. Can't see him crouching on a plastic crate or a fold-out stool like I do when camping.

I feel your pain-- without actually feeling the extent of it, since I am being strong so far. (I stopped even watching the B-Roll clip after a few seconds in when I realised what I was seeing) Though... I did see someone say that (not a spoiler detail, just a reaction) ... ............... and I'm sure we all won't mind knowing this............. the final scene between Legolas and Thranduil is good, better than they expected. But now I am terribly nervous and excited by your response!
