I'm particularly liking the bathrobe / dressing gown / 'smoking jacket' (none of those terms seem quite right to describe the casual evening robe of an elven king) Tres suitable, and such a subtle colour, like the burnished shine of a precious metal. (I personally love roses that colour) Well done, that artist. Am about to wander through the WW images, and am fixing my own glass of wine in readiness. A nice drop (well actually a cheap drop) of Australian cab sav.

Eruvandi, replying to your post in TAXXII

Shortcut to your response That was a great response, thank you Eruvandi. I knew even when I was writing that I was possibly throwing the cat among the pigeons on matters (such as Tauriel’s character), but my brain is too befuddled and jetlagged of late to think things through properly, so am just ‘throwing stuff out there’, thoughts as soon as they occur. Like, I haven’t really considered where characters may be at a given time (eg Kili) like you have. (I am deliberately keeping myself vague on the story timeline – I want the movie to be my reminder.) The good side is to get deeply considered responses like yours. Coz wow, I really like your further building on the notion that the knocking of the bow may be a preventative or disciplinary action, with the idea that Tauriel could be deliberately bringing about her own ‘demotion’. This potential scene is now playing in my mind and I’m rather excited to see if it’s true. 100 brownie elf points to you if so – I’ve not seen this mentioned anywhere else. I would maybe even wager on it! There seems to be a bizarre this notion going around that Thranduil might kill Tauriel – I don’t know why people are coming up with that one! (even me at my vaguest couldn’t go that far). Who started it? It makes no sense, as well as being unthinkable. I think the scene will be a far smaller moment, yet significant in the relationship of these characters.

Yes this comparison with a snow leopard is just perfect. It's like the comparison has been on the tip of my tongue for a while, and now someone has just nailed it. Thranduil's hair / garments / colouring, silver-white in the snow -- and in his subterranean palace, he appears more golden. (as with his tent interior and that gold brocade robe) I know it's in the lighting - be it film lighting or natural as-it-would-be lighting, but I like to think of him having a chameleon-esque quality with his surroundings, and how he might appear in a lush forest in spring time.

Nice! Thanks for your effort, as always. Loads of lovely LP, in the service of thankful Thralls. Because I'm not quite caught up yet, there are a few images and gifs that are new to me, which I guess are from the EE extras. Especially those little moments where he looks amused. The EE is released Nov 12 in Australia, so I'm scheduling in some buying and viewing time very shortly! After the no-new-Thrandy-scenes disappointment, which I've just found out about, I have semi-recovered and am quite excited to see these extras and hear the commentary. Besides, I haven't watched DoS since April. http://larygo.tumblr.com/post/101256089971/x Affectionate feels for what appears to be a few grey hairs showing here. I like this in a man. (could be highlights? but the wriggly bent one gives it away - take it from someone with thousands of the things). http://chelle77.tumblr.com/...-damned-adorably-cut A tad envious of this tumblr user's signature pic. /off topic Ooh, some nice reminders of 'Possession' in there too. Along with Saneliur's comment above ... *mops brow* gotta got and thud somewhere now ....

Great way to start the morning. Your definition of homely brought tears while I was trying to swallow my tea. Perfect!

How 'bout this? I saw this in a shop today - it was so much fun. http://shop.ilovemel.me/...rbatch-coloring-book Then if you scroll down the page, you'll see the one I'm ordering (for a friend, OK, for a friend!) This artist has a further colouring book full of cute male actors, which I browsed eagerly. Only one person is missing.

Thanks for this! *haha* nice! I wonder if we might be able to run with it for a bit here too
Lurker’s “Perfect!” That *is* perfect! I love how his expression fits the words so well! And thank goodness that he did get several frames and some lines in the trailer! Yes! Breathed a sigh of relief, cos well, you know DoS EE but then with the weird stuff it threw up, i'm just again
Lurker’s “I hope so too” Re Bubba looking a tad short: Mmmmm….Uuuuuhhhh…*tilts head this way and that* *squints*…I don’t think so. I just compared Bubba in the trailer with Bubba in the AUJ Prologue and when Thranduil turns him around and has his army walk away, it looks like the Elf soldiers come up to the same place on Bubba there as they do in the trailer. I think he may just *seem* short because he’s surrounded by elves in the trailer as opposed to being in front of them all in the prologue. Also, the camera is at a higher angle in the trailer than in the prologue so that may be contributing to him looking short. The biggest difference I notice between prologue Bubba and trailer Bubba is that trailer Bubba, IMO, looks older and seems to have some scars on his velvety nose, which I guess is a natural side effect of being a war-elk. You really got down to the nitty gritty there! *admiringly* I should qualify - I was actually thinking of Bard on his horse looking not quite signficantly shorter than Thranduil on Bubba (I know, sorry for the phrasing in my original question, my brain works in strange ways sometimes). Because isn't the average height of a thoroughbred at the withers about 16 hands (163cm), while a large moose, and I'm sure Bubba is a big boy, can be up to 180cm. Definitely! The one Eowyn shared is cool too

" - vanima ephel I fancy myself an ME BFF (Book/Film Fan) (Aaaaand a gushy Thranduil fangurl before The Hobbit movies; still a gushy Thranduil fangurl through them. ) Thranduil Appreciation Tis true: more appreciation threads for Thranduil exist than ME movies. I had no trouble reading it. I noticed a few rumblings on tumblr about a change of format, but since I've never posted anything there [and nor am I likely to] I don't really know what it is all about

Doesn't seem to need a wide parking bay! BTW. noticed poor old Bubba seems to have gained a few scars on his nose in the new trailer compared to how he was in the prologue of AUJ
