I saw this image while Googling yesterday, but without the logo or text. I assumed it was just from one of the many books that I don't own, so didn't bother sharing.
Looks to me like someone's photoshopped it into a poster, but could be official. I like it though. Reminds me of Sauron in the Lego game :)

Other posters have already mentioned to me who knows what the future holds, and there's a difference in marketing vs. film narrative, but while OK Tauriel was everywhere last year being a new character and all, thought that would get dialed down, and maybe we'd see more of the others - Thranduil, and the dwarves, especially at the end - in particular Fili and Kili, Balin, Bofur (earlier mentioned as having a particular role in BOFA), and maybe Dwalin.
And that's been true to a degree. Hopefully the future holds BALANCE, as it were.
Anyway for me I can hardly say Sauron is a favorite character, but I thought this was wonderful, because to me it really gives a sense of transparent flame, it is so ominous, yet rich - love the colors - if I were going to put an image of Sauron on the wall this would be it (well, I kinda do already re the Jerry Vanderstelt print) but definitely saving this image. Happily *cough* for me the colors also evoke blood which in turn evoke all the darkness and death Sauron has caused - if this is fan art IMO awesome.

I found the Sauron image on the internet and thougt it would be a nice poster, so I just put in the logo and the credits and the "defining chapter"
I don't know if the Sauron image is real or not

Ironically Stuart Townsend was considered an even bigger star at the time and probably would have been listed in the top two.

I must say I thought this was a real poster at first. Very well done by the artist, great blending of Sauron with the Dol Guldur background. This would've made a badass official poster, I think. Need more baddies like Azog or Bolg to have their own posters and not just little banners.

Well.... I hope they release some Sauron image soon.... But probably not. It's all about the good guys...... Damn shame..
I wanna see a scene where we see Sauron walking the steps INSIDE of Bara-Dur and taking his seat upon his dark throne and summoning the eye, looking into the camera and then BAM! THE END.
-My thoughts on the best ending scene/post credit scene on TABA.
