That is uber PS farnie - Legolas' off-screen plea is the cherry on top! Priceless! .
Fan of both books and movies; I am a lurker by nature though it seems I have severely misnamed myself... for the moment.
Appreciating Thranduil, thread by thread: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII (Tis true: more appreciation threads for Thranduil exist than ME movies)
Thrall Wars!: What business do Elves, Dwarves or Men(?) have with drooling thralls, yea, with smartphones in tow, unto the slopes of Erebor? ... oh, yes, the Hobbit's lingering in some shadows, ever ready to swoop to the hairy rescue. Take cover if you dare!. (A writing triangle with Avandel and Kerewyn) Teh partsies: Prologue (aka the 'tater-mash of whatever came before), two, three, three-appendix: An Unexpected Flashback, four, five (new, posted 20 August) "BoFA"= The Battle || "BotFA"/"tBotFA" = The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies =======

Fingers crossed we'll soon get more material from BOFA, and specifically Thranduil. Although watching these pics and GIF's from the teaser and other sources won't ever bore me, it would still be nice to find new material. And a golden oldie. Thranduil looks so etherical in it (I might just have to make it my avatar) Did you wish very hard upon a star last night? Cos look at what Tinne shared! Exactly what you ordered

See the commercial clip on one of the older threads... And I dunno, some possible piccies for some ad gigs?
The cloak thingy... what I would do to see it on the EE of DOS (btw it's in pre order in the UK already) Although I miss #20 because the hair should have his own listing as well totally agrees!

I'm home now and my parents are fine, thanks for asking! The doctor was very happy with them. Yay! Eh... I think i'll just be the one who's always a few steps behind @VValar
How awesome that your grandmother was a LOTR fan! Just so you know, whenever you do decide to read the Silm again, it might be helpful to check out the Read-Along's archives (Click "more links" down under the read along explanation on the left and then click "archive") because the host posts stuff like weekly reader's guides that are great for helping you to keep track of all the stuff that happens in each chapter. Got to second what Eruvandi's said here. Also, I too found my first Silm go around very tough going. So much so I didn't touch it again after I was done. But this time, I'm actually finding it very enjoyable... though my going isn't going to win me any 100 yard snail-dash competition. Just saying.

You really do your research Google is easy
Well then, LP is indeed tallest of the cast/crew of TH as suspected. Unless new tidbits to the contrary surface, I'd say so.

That robe-cape Thranduil's wearing is a different one than the one he wears in the Halls. More... flinty(?) in its design, print and colour, though no less glossy and voluminous.
And the red peeking out from the cape, is it a blankie for LP to keep warm or part of Thranduil's garb? The way it's under the cape makes me think part of the costume... but it's very thick isn't it? More like a blanket for warmth? It was winter when they did the BotFA pickups right? Interesting that we can see Elven guards standing at attention (?) outside the tent too. (between LP and PJ)

Went looking in tumblr, and ... Armour!
The source, and more pics here. So it looks like they're from a chinese language magazine called 《看电影》 or Watch Movies... not familiar to me, and looks like it's a China publication. Anyway! Here we go:
Liking the art in the first image.
Quick translation for any interested: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Peter Jackson & Luke Evans, & Ian McKellan Coffee, swords and beards - this is a dream-making moment; the hero is scruffed up; the wizard is exhausted - this is the face of war. The defining chapter of the dream of Middle-earth is nearing its end, and yet feels like it will perpetuate: The robes of Gandalf are still as grey, he is still as wrinkling, no more and no less so. What's the difference between the Kong of Men, Aragorn, and Bard, the Dragon slayer? Even the beer gut of Peter Jackson is as impressive as before. What a deja vu moment. Jackson's ambitious attempt to create a ending of such grandeur as befitting an epic historical poem, in service of a mere children's bedtime story, another another legendary Middle-earth story's ending. (Details on P12) Premiere: 17 Dec 2014.
... ) Thranduil the Elvenking in the 3rd movie...

The more pics with the two of them together the better! Ooooooh yessssss! I wasn't expecting quite that level of pretty intensity either! The expression on her face is very much what mine would have been like if LP had his arm around me!! The original version of that song annoys the crud out of me but I actually really like this nerdy version! LOL!

And a relief your parents are doing fine and the doctor was happy with them. Thank you for sharing the link on the Silmarillion Read-Along (hey that rhymes), though I would be a bit behind you guys if I started reading the book now. I like the initiative of sharing art, thoughts and even recipes that come to mind while reading. I'm going to save the link to check the archives when I need them, so thanks again Yep grandma did have excellent taste concerning fantasy books. I especially liked it when she named the family dog Frodo and let my granddad walk the dog around and having to call him by his cute, little Hobbit name. And since Frodo didn't listen so well, I'd imagine the name was well known throughout the neighbourhood (and my granddad is NOT a LOTR fan so I guess he felt a bit silly ) So beside Thranduil, I believe you also like Leggy and Tauriel if I'm not mistaken?

And since Frodo didn't listen so well, I'd imagine the name was well known throughout the neighbourhood (and my granddad is NOT a LOTR fan so I guess he felt a bit silly ) Lol! Poor grandad! That actually reminds me, the vet to whom I take my pets the get check ups used to have a dog named Frodo too! I think he was a greyhound mix of some kind and he was was allowed to roam the vet's office and visit with the owners of the patients. He was so sweet, but he was really old and I think he died a while ago. The vet's other two dogs, Sue and Junebug are still there and visit with people though.
So beside Thranduil, I believe you also like Leggy and Tauriel if I'm not mistaken? Yep, Leggy and Tauriel are my two other elven faves! I really like Tauriel because of the way she views the world and how she's so strong and wants to help people and won't just lie down and let evil take over. Then there's Leggy who's so stinking cute and I really like him as a character especially in the LOTR books, but also in the movies and the Hobbit movies. You know, the other Thralls have actually told me that having Tauriel as my avatar suits me because my posts can be very Tauriel-like or something like that, Lol! I take it as a great compliment!

Sound strategy And once you've boosted your constitution to appreciate Thranduil in undiluted straight shots, I'm guessing you're gonna bookmark or DL the youtubes of all his scenes thus far? Just for convenient instant reviews of course.
