Bard Marley [In reply to] Can't Post

Luke Evans: Bard Marty(?)...of Laketown.

I think he's actually saying "Bard Marley" here, in a very interesting Jamaican-Welsh accent :)

That was awesome! [In reply to] Can't Post

I couldn't watch it until now. Great v-log.

Sad about ComicCon, but that might be good news for TORN, because WE have a panel, so that means we're the only Hobbit source at ComicCon this year. Go us!

It's different [In reply to] Can't Post

I know its different for the last movie and different than my statue from Weta. It's very similar to the one he has in Fellowship.

I hope they don't kill Radagast. I don't like the bird poop but I really enjoy the character.

.... [In reply to] Can't Post

Looks like the ruined city of Dale is where Bilbo will be handing over the Arkenstone to Gandalf and the elves. I don't know if that means the Elves will be sheltering in the ruined city while they lay siege to the Lonely Mountain, or if it was just a convenient place for Bilbo to meet Gandalf.

I don't mind that they will show nothing at ComicCon [In reply to] Can't Post

That's OK.
Best part of the video blog: Dwarf trainingSmile

And too bad that they are not showing anything from DOS shootings from last year. But I guess they are too busy with the reshoots.

And at least we have a new vblog :)

Thanks for sharing Daniel!

where did you hear that radagast is onfirmed to be in TABA? [In reply to] Can't Post

"Durin's Heir you may be, but even with one eye you should see clearer. If this is victory, then our hands are too small to hold it. We will not enter Khazad-dum. You will not enter Khazad-dum. Beyond the shadow of the gate it waits for you still: Durin’s Bane. The world must change and some other power than ours must come before Durin’s Folk walk again in Moria.”

I don't like the idea of Radagast's incarnation being destroyed. And, while I would understand Sauron [In reply to] Can't Post

breaking Gandalf's staff (debatable but conceivable) it would be beyond anathema to have The Witch King do it, especially at this stage where he is far less potent (it was outrage enough in the never to be otherwise mentioned ROTK EE scene).

Howver, while the staff IS different in this battle scene, it is worth noting that there is another scene of Gandalf merely standing around in Dale, presumably at the time he meets up with Legolas et al, and the staff is the same as in An Unexpected. . . it could be that we are seeing two entirely different scenes.

In Reply To
One of the comments on torn's main page said that Gandalf is weilding a different staff in the glimpse that we him fighting in Dale. What do you guys think?

Here's a few screen-shots. http://imgur.com/a/CUv3N It looks like Radagast's staff with its spindly ends rather than the enclosed shape at the top of Gandalf's staff. So is it Radagast's? We know McCoy has said that his staff becomes "important" to the story later on. So this might confirm that Gandalf takes Raddie's staff.

There's been a lot of speculation that Radagast will die, and it seems like quite a few people here are comfortable with that idea. Despite the fact that I'm not the biggest fan of how he's been portrayed, I would be wholly uncomfortable with him dying. For me it seems extremely cheap to kill him off just because he doesn't appear in the LOTR trilogy.

Does anyone have any other theories? Perhaps Gandalf's staff is simply broken by the Necromancer Unimpressed (ROTK EE Witch-king scene, blech) and Radagast offers his staff to Gandalf.

I can't lie, I'm pretty worried about all this.

"Hear me, hounds of Sauron, Gandalf is here! Fly if you value your foul skins, I will shrivel you from tail to snout if you step within this circle!"

Closing music [In reply to] Can't Post

Anyone recognize the music from the last few seconds? Is it just some stock material, or could it be a preview of the Laketown theme?
