I'll have a go at answering. :) 1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? I've never been in to naming cars, but if I had to, maybe Shadowfax. It's silver. :) 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? Curling up with Mr Kimi and watching a DVD. 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? TORn was my first-ever message board. I was shy and nervous about joining up (took me months), but one day I took a deep breath, looked around the room for inspiration, saw my lovely golden Kimi-cat and borrowed his name. My real name is gender-ambiguous, and so was his. 4. This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? In a bowl. :) 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? (Singing along to music whilst having a bath counts too Wink) Sometimes. Generally some heartfelt love song, for some reason. :)

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? (Our suggestions were Mordor Mazda and Hobbiton Honda, after I saw a car on Saturday called Samwise, it was a Subaru ) Obviously to get back to the Third Age I'll need a De Lorien. 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? The Colbert Report (6pm locally) and The Daily Show (6:30pm). 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? My surname is Morgan. In Sindarin: Mor = Dark Gon = Stone Darkstone 4. This one is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup light Karo syrup 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter Combine all ingredients (except peanut butter) in a saucepan stirring constantly until all ingredients are dissolved. Let the mixture cool completely then add the peanut butter and stir well. Pour mixture on ice cream (usually vanilla). Add whipped cream and cherry on top. 5. Do you sing in the shower? Among other places. And if you do, what sort of songs? (Singing along to music whilst having a bath counts too ) “After the Gold Rush” is always nice. Also “Eyes of Texas”, “Oklahoma”, and “The Marines’ Hymn”. And occasionally “God Save the Queen”. Sometimes I just make stuff up.
****************************************** The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? My own car? Bill (before being trated by Sam, Bombadil and Bob). Perhaps one day I'll have enough money for a Ferrari Fell Beast... 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? Studying. If I can't afford the time or don't have the energy - reading TORn and/or following the most recent chess tournaments. Chatting with my wife - should be first, but too often it degenerates to planning the next day, which is sometimes stressful in itself. The simplest way is taking a shower, with or without singing. Occasionally I don't unwind at all, and just crash to sleep. 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? Need I trot out the old story again? Before I ever thought of checking the message board, I've noticed in a list on the Internet that faramir and Eowyn had a son named Elboron; I thought to myself it was cool, and that if I ever chose a Tolkien-related nick that would be it. When I finally looked at the boards, I planned at first to lurk for a bit before considering whether to join; but after a couple of hours I really wanted to participate. I enlisted, forgot the name "Elboron" and didn't bother to check (the time I had at my disposal was running out). At the time I was reading The Children of Hurin, and my favourite character was Gwindor, so I decided on that. Without thinking, I typed out "sador", and went on to compose a long and thoughtful post. Just before running out, I've hit "enter". I returned to the board on the next day, and found out that a) I should have hit "post reply", and now my first post was irretrievable lost; b) I've picked up a nick I didn't mean to. However, I've realised that the clumsy, blundering, simple character of sador was a better fit, so I stuck with it. 4. This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? Personally, I prefer it in a bowl. Nothing else is needed - perhaps some syrup. 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? Anything I would sing would be out of sorts! Regarding your question - usually no; sometimes I internally sing to myself whatever gets stuck in my mind - but hardly ever I do so out loud.

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? (Our suggestions were Mordor Mazda and Hobbiton Honda, after I saw a car on Saturday called Samwise, it was a Subaru ) It's strange that I haven't named my car, I almost always treat my cars like pets; I sweet talk them and pat their dashboards. Anyway, I cheated a bit to find a fitting Middle Earth name, I looked at Wikipedia for the names of Sam's children because my car is sweet, cheerful, and practical like Sam, but it's red and kind of feminine...so I went with Primrose. Primrose the Mazda 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? Listening to music, messing around on the computer, playing with my doggies, reading. 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? I didn't realize there was a listing of all the names that had been taken, and I was afraid of choosing something too close to other names, so I went with the name of a place in Poland that holds fond memories for me. I also always thought it sounded cool, like Queen Zarabia from the Kingdom of Zlartibartfast... 4. This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? Is there a bad way??? 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? Nope, only in the car where no unsuspecting souls will have to endure my warbling. But in the car, look out! I love most all eras and genres, but lately I keep hitting replay on my Best of Earth, Wind & Fire CD. They are unrepentantly upbeat, I can't stay in a bad mood singing along with them. Also listening to a lot of Leningrad, a Russian ska band; I have no idea what I'm singing, it could be awful things, but their music is so quirky and fun.

well, I'd finished editing and posting Elvens report for TORn's frontpage, and I was just twiddling my thumbs looking for something else to do... and I spied you guys milling around And I'm trying to avoid packing everything up outside in preparation for the storm that's supposed to hit us from tomorrow night... seems winter has finally remembered it's supposed to be here.

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? (Our suggestions were Mordor Mazda and Hobbiton Honda, after I saw a car on Saturday called Samwise, it was a Subaru Laugh)
This is actually my previous car, but the current one is also a white BMW wagon with this license. 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? Checking in on TORn, of course! 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? Lacking inspiration, in the old TORn boards I was my email nick, erather. But then I married, and 'rather' was no longer appropriate, so on the new boards I just went with my first name. No imagination. I sometimes think if I had it to do over I'd go with 'Eowyn's Mom' but it's too late now. 4. This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? Vanilla, with raspberries and Amaretto poured over. 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? (Singing along to music whilst having a bath counts too Wink) Not in the shower, but I do sing in real life, in a large chorus with symphony orchestra. Good questions, thanks!

just to be sure, Starling. I don't want this one returning! Sheesh, enough already. Cold cold horizontal rain all day, everything's under water, sodden pony (who cleverly spends the day standing in FRONT of her shed, not actually IN it) and chickens. Yuk! And if this is headed your way, Kel, hunker down with something hot -- Dwarves and tea, for starters!

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? (Our suggestions were Mordor Mazda and Hobbiton Honda, after I saw a car on Saturday called Samwise, it was a Subaru ) -- I don't have a car of my own, but I suppose I can name my husband's car? Well, I guess it could be the Mithril Mercedes - which is even a slight homage to the Silver Arrows, even though the car is, in fact, not silver in colour. 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? -- Either sitting at the computer, browsing the internet or writing something, or perhaps reading a nice book. 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? -- I like the name 'Angharad'. It was the first name that popped into my head when I was trying to come up with a user name, after I had decided against using some of my other pseudonyms. And the 73 is my birthyear. 4. This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? -- In a bowl? 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? (Singing along to music whilst having a bath counts too ) -- Nope, I absolutely cannot sing. Listening to the yowling of a dozen cats in heat is better than listening to me sing. I will not do that to my family. They would kick me out.

1. Never really thought about naming my car. I have s silver Jetta so any ideas? 2. A walk with my dog or a visit to the dog park then a nice glass of wine. 3. It was the name of my female black lab who's since gone into the west. 4. I am a huge ice cream fan! My favorite is vanilla with hot fudge & whipped cream, yum! 5. I love to sing & do it all the time but not in the shower.

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? Bill, as its a sturdy sort of metal pony. 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? At home - dig a hole in the yard and plant something, or a Krav class. Stressful work day is TORn,, and a ME film on TV. (because when I get home its already too dark to garden.) 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? Over the years I have had a couple. This one is my favorite, inspired by the Lady Haleth in Sil. 4 . This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? With a slab of chocolate cake. 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? I don't sing. Its for the best. *hugs, love & blessings* back to you Kel! Manwe, when asked a simple "Yes" or "No" question, contemplated, and responded "the middle one."

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car Vilya, ‘cuz it’s a blue Saturn (ring) and protects me from evil. 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? Finding a sunny spot and doing ‘faux-ga’ (I don’t know actual yoga). If I’m really tense, I’ll do a simple kick-boxing workout. 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? I’ve always liked the name, perhaps because my birthstone is Emerald, so this was my chance to use it. I also like that Esmeralda was a Took who married into the Brandybucks. 4. What your favourite way of serving ice-cream? I worked as an ice-cream scooper for two summers, so I know *all* the ways. Hot fudge sundae was probably the most fun – who doesn’t like making whipped cream swirls? But personally, I like to stir plain chocolate ice cream until it’s the consistency of pudding and lick it slowly from the spoon, savoring every drop. 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs. “Far overrrrr, the Mist-ee-ee Mountains cooold, to dungeons deeeeeep, and caverrrns oooold…”

1. What Middle-earth name would you give to your car? How about the Imladris Impulse (with a license plate that says "Noro Lim!) 2. What's your favourite way of unwinding after a stressful day? Sitting outside with a good book. (See also answer to #4) 3. Why did you choose the nick you use on TORn? Funny story, I had originally joined the old TORN boards as Findulias, but went away for a while and couldn't remember my password, so I created a new one that I felt was a plausible middle earth name that wasn't actually from the books. Not very creative I fear.... 4. This on is gramma inspired, what's your favourite way of serving ice-cream? In a waffle bowl...and lately with a lovely little invention my sister turned me on to: boozy whipped cream. 5. Do you sing in the shower? And if you do, what sort of songs? (Singing along to music whilst having a bath counts too ) Not as much as I used to. I'm getting self-conscious in my old age I guess. I love a good showtune in the shower though.

and the best part about singing in the car is you can be as loud as you like, more so than the shower. (Except at intersections unless you want people to give you funny looks.)

We drove our mom nuts growing up because we insisted that vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce stirred into it was different from and better than chocolate ice cream. IT IS! Hard ice cream tastes better but I love the texture of soft-serve . . . so . . . ya gotta stir it. With maybe a titch of milk to soften it. (Now I want ice cream.)
