is this jed brophy? Can't Post

after learning that jed brophy also played the orc who wanted a "bit off the flank" in the two towers, i was running things through my mind...

... is he not also the rider of rohan who says "mordor will pay for this" (during the scene in which eomer's company finds theodred)?

i've also seen a screenshot of him as an elf... he's played almost every race known to middle earth. when jackson films the silmarillion, perhaps he's going to get dibs on manwe. or even varda -- clearly, jed has range.

cheers --

.

aka. fili orc-enshield
+++++++++++++++++++
the scene, as i understand it, is exceptionally well-written. fili (in sort of a callback to the scene with the eagles), calls out "thorRIIIIIIN!!!" just as he sees the pale orc veer in for the kill. he picks up the severed arm of an orc which is lying on the ground, swings it up in desperation, effectively blocking the pale orc's blow. and thus, forever after, fili is known as "fili orc-enshield."

this earns him deep respect from his hard-to-please uncle. as well as a hug. kili wipes his boots on the pale orc's glory box. -- maciliel

The one who finds Theodred. Which elf was he? I've never noticed that.

I wasn't aware he played an elf [In reply to] Can't Post

do you remember what scene that was?

And I also wasn't aware of him being in the Fords of Isen scene. That's not to say he wasn't. But I hadn't run across the info.

It would be great to get screen shots. I looked here but I don't think the person you're talking about is in these:
http://www.framecaplib.com/...ices/ttt/thumb05.htm

You can see shots of him as Snaga and Sharku here:
https://picasaweb.google.com/...ActorsAllInTheFamily

and... just to note: I don't think this is a Hobbit movie topic. ;-)

He really has played every race!

Is this a better shot of the Rohirrim man?

Is this him? [In reply to] Can't Post

Although we can't be 100%, this looks suspiciously like it could be him (last elf on the left, on the horse). They're sat in an almost identical position, have identical hair, and are both wearing a silver brooch. There's also another shot here, on the right but his cloak seems more twisted. If that one is him, then he also turns around and looks at Lindir/Figwit, here.

What do you think Magpie?

And minor villains it's great to see him play a proper hero character. Nori didn't get to say much in AUJ but hopefully the EE if not the next to instalments will fix this.

(credit to RivenDelve for the technical confirmation!) It is Nori who yells a warning to Thorin as the Goblin King strikes at his back. A nice hero moment! Smile

really? i thought that was fili... it sounds an awful lot like the "thoriiiin!!" scream when he's riding the eagles.

(and thanks to everyone for all the fantastic screenshots -- i had seen the one of him as a horse-riding elf, but the pic i saw was small and of poor quality; this one's gorgeous and clear.)

cheers --

That's what I thought as well!!!!! But I noted a fractional-second shot of Nori on the floor just before the cry of "Thorin!" - and after we discussed it RivenDelve cleverly put it on closed-caption, which clearly said Nori: Thorin! Smile Such a cool way to find things out....!

Jed makes a lovely elf, BTW.

He played a Nazgūl too [In reply to] Can't Post

.. if I remember it correctly. Funny that Peter didn't let him play one of the trolls in AUJ. He played a man (and a Nazgūl), an elf, a dwarf, two orcs... but not a hobbit yet :P
