IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT WE AHVE TO WAT A WHOLE YEAR BETWEEN THIS WHOLE TRILOGY JUST SO THEYLL ALL HAVE THE SAME RELEASE

relax! [In reply to] Can't Post

Does it really matter? I personally prefer an Xmas release but would have been just as happy whenever they did it.surely the longer wait makes for greater excitement etc?? Its not like its a gap of years between each one like it was with the original star wars movies.things happen quickly enough these days, lets enjoy the ride Smile

Delays [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm as worried as the next guy that Star Wars 7 will get delayed, but I really don't see what it has to do with TABA either...

There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall and the bells in the steeple, too.
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird is popping out to say coo-coo (coo-coo, coo-coo).

This Date is Mid-Summer in Wellington..also [In reply to] Can't Post

1. It gives all of us more time to pull together the $$$ to attend and visit the Hobbiton Set in Summer.

2. This would allow us all to meet each other for REAL! Think of the Costumes and Replicas we could bring....

3. This gives Theaters worldwide more Time to upgrade to 3d HFR with the Dolby Sound system. (Only ONE Theater in the Entire State of Colorado had this.)

4. The $$$ that TH1 made theaters around the world gives them NO excuse Not to.

5. A better chance to sweep the the Oscars in Febuary in 2016!

6. The distribution to all countries could be Simutaneously?
The number of Prints could be Astonishing...Translation voice tracks, etc.

7. Since it is still going in China, India, Australlia don't be surprized at the final gross?

Perfectly stated, painjoiker.
In ME the wait is always worth it. Any pressure to rush a screen date would not be from fans; I would (anxiously) wait three years in between if I had to for the crafting to be what it needs to be.

I have waited a long time, and am happy to wait longer if the films will be better for it. I don't want to be looking back 25 years from now saying, 'man, i wish they had pushed that film back 5 months to get a little bit more polishing done.'

I prefer the Winter release. It only bothers me because of the unforseen circumstances of the world. [In reply to] Can't Post

In that six months, things may happen that will make some fans unable to see it, who might have been able to earlier in the year, and that thought always saddens me. But, what can you do?

I don't see anything wrong with a delayed release... [In reply to] Can't Post

... I survived the year-long gaps between the LotR films, and can easily survive them between TH films. At least there'll be enough time for the team to polish everything up. And somehow, end of the year feels like the proper time for Middle-earth to me. Smile

"A journalist once asked me what I would like my epitaph to be and I said I think I would like it to be 'He did very little harm'. And that's not easy. Most people seem to me to do a great deal of harm. If I could be remembered as having done very little, that would suit me." ~ Paul Eddington

Something with a Maya Angelou cameo I think. lol. I went to get a soda before the previews started ( I like previews, actually), and when I returned, my mother told me they had shown a lettered sign. The Lord of The Rings: Coming To Theaters in 2001. I nearly fainted. lol The follwing weeks were spent on the long, slow dial up internet of my kinsman. lol
