The new action figures 2013 AUJ Can't Post

Idlehands has posted pictures of the rest of the AUJ +bolg action figures
http://idlehands1.blogspot.no/...cts-hobbit.html#more

The new dwarves looks fairy nice, Radagast could use some more color.

What do you guys think?

Great news! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm really looking forward to these figures!

I know these are prototypes but there are few things I noticed:
- Radagast looks not really like "The Brown" to me. Yes his coat is brown but couldn't the use a "warmer" brown? It looks almost grey in a way. And yes it was mentioned in the article: No bird poop? Unsure
- Azog and his (repainted) warg is my favorite one but why does he have hair and why doesn't he carry his mace from AUJ but Bolgs weapons?
- We now have all 12 dwarves... wait 12? Right Gloin is still missing! Bombur looks great!

All in all: They don't look that bad. At least Azog with his almost white warg and Bolg are already on my wish list but why no more baddies? No new orc or goblin?

Whoohoo to Wave 2! [In reply to] Can't Post

Azog looks AWESOME! I'm psyched for the dwarves, but I also noticed that Gloin was missing. Perhaps he's not made yet, or is in some sort of a beast pack? Making 11 is just wrong. lol Still, I'm excited!

I expect some tweaking but as a whole I believe the articluation will be fairly similar to what we saw with the 3 3/4 figures in wave one. Dori looks really good and might match Balin for best Dwarf so far.

doubtful [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm doubtful that it will only be those 3 figures released in the 6" wave... I'm fairly certain that those are the only 3 they're showing right now.

Remember at comiccon, they only showed Gandalf, Thorin and Bilbo in the 6" wave. They ended up releasing Legolas, Tauriel and Yazneg (only released in the UK). So, following that same trend, we can expect 2 or 3 other figures to show up between now and summer.

My hopes are for Balin, Bofur and Gollum.

I think Gloin is coming as 3 3/4 as well, hes just not pictured and some Goblins figures too. I read it on Toynewsi.com and they said Gandalf/ Radagast 2 pack, Azog with Warg beast pack and Dwarf/Goblin 3 packs are coming. I dont think this is all of the 3 3/4 wave 2 figures. They will probably show more closer to release.

Just read on Idlehands that the goblins/orcs in a Goblin 3 pack will be Bolg, Fimbul and Grinnah. So it will be pre released baddies im afraid

Two Dwarf 3 packs - Dori, Nori, Ori & Bofur, Bombur, Bifur i guess that leaves Gloin and Oin in a 2 pack?
One Goblin 3 pack - Bolg, Fimbul, Grinnah damn shame, i wanted a new 3 3/4 Yazneg
Radagast/ Gandalf wizard pack

It's about time they are reunited with the rest of Thorin and Co from Wave 1! The Lego sets are pretty slick. I've snagged a few of them and its something pretty fun to have in the oole collection. That's the last I heard and I expect its probably is still the case. I'd like it to be a bit sooner and it could if they announce anything at Toy Fair next month. Let's hope. High Hopes for Toy Fair! [In reply to] Can't Post

Yea, I was happy that SF came back the way they did. Definitely made the game more interesting. I wish they won, of course. Glad to hear that The Hobbit is still raking in viewers! My weekend was pretty low key. I've been planning my best friend's birthday party with his girlfriend. Karaoke it is!

My paws are crossed that Toy Fair brings us some good news. The pics we saw at the Toy Fair in England was a tease. They were a bit blurry, there were only a few shots taken, and I'm sure there is more to see. I'm concerned that we did not see the Goblin King Battle playset or the Nori and Stone Troll beast pack. Where is Gloin in all of this?

Speaking of Toy Fair, Hasbro better now let me down. lol I feel like there could be a ton of more figures made form CW Season 4.

Yeah, I was proud they fought back but really bummed they lost. I love my Chiefs but I love my Niners more.

I was really pleased as well. I mean its been in theaters closing in on two months and even in only a 200 person theater that many people is a good thing. They've taken the BR date off the site so it might be making enough money they're going to delay things just a bit. Nice! That should be a good time but I suck at singing so much its not something I could get the guts to do.

I think and believe it will. We're getting into the season of news for collectibles upcoming stuff anyways. You have Toy Fairs happening outside the US and soon the US with the Summer Cons coming fairly soon. Yeah, wave 2 needs to complete the Dwarves. As far as I know from checking out TBD FB page the Goblin King set we got in wave one is the battle playset.

Oh I think they're gonna have tons of stuff including that new 6" range.

Ha ha that was hysterical! If Ob-Wan was involved, you know that Toy Fair would be OUTSTANDING!

When I looked on BBTS, it shows that a customer can order the Goblin King Beast Pack and the Goblin King Battle Playset as separate items. Also, both items are listed as significantly different prices. So, I don't think that they are one in the same. At least, I hope not. lol I wonder if TBD is going to make some of the dwarves in 3 packs? It makes sense, but they would profit more from 2 packs and adding the extra dwarves to beast packs.

I've heard of this new 6" Star Wars line, but I think there was mention of only 4 figures thus far. I'd like to see some new figures from the Clone Wars and the Vintage Line for 3 3/4' lines. Though, I have heard that the Vintage Line may be discontinued, which is a bummer. Still, it's been a while since we've seen anything from Hasbro with the SW figures. I did recently purchase the AT-RT with 501st ARF Trooper. It looks awesome!

Oh yeah! Love me some subway. :) I hear ya! If you order the movie and I believe DVD counts as well you should get a special access code to watch some clips and be a part of a live event March 24th with Peter Jackson. Man, we need to get you a BR player. You can get them pretty darn cheap.

Thank ya! I think it should be easy enough to pick them up. At least I hope so. lol Sweet! That's an even better deal then. I pretty much order everything through them anymore as I dont pay tax or shipping. Its cheaper than driving to the local electronics store. Well, there are days I feel it for sure. Tongue Yeah, they would have a good chuckle about that.

Villains Needed [In reply to] Can't Post

Happy Friday, Elessar! My paws are crossed that you too have a 3 day weekend!

What is supposed to happen at this event and where is it? Peter Jackson will be there? NICE! Yea, I know BR players are not that expensive, but then I'll have to buy so many new DVDs. lol I might invest in one though, eventually.

Ditto. Amazon ROCKS! You save gas, time, and (usually) money.

As far as I can tell, there are a lot of 2 packs coming out with basic figures in the 3.75" line, which I gladly welcome. However, we've only head of 1 beast pack and it's only for the 6" line. Plus, it appears as though we're a little short on villains for Wave 2. Who are the dwarves supposed to fight? lol

Enjoy your weekend!

3 Days off [In reply to] Can't Post

Happy Friday to you as well! I do. I will be sleeping in on Monday. :)

Its supposed to be March 24th and it will be hosted on the internet someplace. There may be more info on the official The Hobbit movie website. I'd just rebuy the ones I really love as usually the BR players upgrade the DVD a bit.

Indeed!

I thought by the looks of things we were maybe getting a 6" Azog Beast Pack and a 3.75. Maybe it was just a 3.75 beast pack. I'm sure we'll get the Trolls but we may not see them until Comic-Con. We of course I'm sure will see some more orcs/goblins but the sad thing is we don't have a lot of bad guys.

Accessories! [In reply to] Can't Post

Mine was good, thanks. My sister and her boyfriend visited me from Alaska. Hanging with them was AWESOME! We also celebrated one of my best friend's birthdays karaoke style. That was fun! I watched Man With the Iron Fists. It was pretty graphic and definitely not for kids. The acting was subpar, but the fighting was pretty solid. I also watched Frankenweenie. There are so many references to old horror movies and actors in there. I really enjoyed it!

For sure! I got mine online from TRU months ago and it ran me around $33 which included shipping. Being as they are in limited quantity, I predict that the value will increase over time. Though Bilbo is the main character, the Azog figure is pretty cool. I can't wait to see what accessories come with all of the dwarves in Wave 2! I know we can see some from the photos available, but there tend to be items that people miss now and then.

Good! Those both sound like good times. Are you from Alaska or did your sister move there? I remember thinking that would be very graphic and probably a rental at best. Frankenweenie I might see someday but I've lost 3 pets in the last year and so I've not seen it yet for that reason.

I agree. I do think overtime there will be a small increase at least in its value. Mine is still in the box. I've thought about buying another one to open but as of now I'm just leaving everything in the box so he'd be all alone if I did and opened it.

I am curious to see what the include but I imagine it will be much like wave one with just the basic stuff that the character had in the movie. I think the Azog figure looks sweet and I hope he also is the Comic-Con figure that way you can get both versions of the character if you choose to do so. I'm also hoping Weta will announce a statue for him at Comic-Con this year.

My sister moved to Alaska to be with her boyfriend. He's in the Coast Guard. However, my parents, my sister, and her boyfriend will all be living in Florida at some point this there. Dude, I'm really sorry to hear about your pets. That's rough, but I'm sure you gave them great lives and they are all in a better place now.

Lonely is not good. lol I have several LOTR figures and box sets opened and unopened that I plan on passing those on to my hypothetical children someday along with all of The Hobbit figures I collect. The same goes for my SW figues and so on. Speaking of which, did you see or hear anything about new 3.75" CW figures for 2013? I saw pics of the 6" line, which I liked. Though, there were only a few figures announced.

I'm cool with the basics for Wave 2. I have high hopes for futures waves! I'd like to see 3.75" Nori with his knives. Weta made some pretty neat real ones. lol Having both versions of Azog would be GREAT! No doubt, he will have a marvelous statue if and when that it released.

No not good at all. Lol yeah, someday any kids are going to freak when they see all my stuff. Tongue I did not. I saw the 6" figures which looked cool but nothing else from SW.

I think future waves will expand in all area. Especially if each wave continues to grow in success. Yes, the Weta ones are freaking cool. I could see TBd doing some weapons like they did with Sting. Plus doing one as a sdcc ex (especially the one with two arms) would make sense. It allows people to skip something they don't want. He will make a fantastic statue,

The Batman [In reply to] Can't Post

Happy Friday, Elessar! Agreed. I've always wanted to visit Alaska, but I would take warmer weather over the cold to call home.

I hear that! lol The SW figures look great, but I feel like the CW series could bring so many figures to life. Season 4 was AMAZING! I'm not sure if Hasbro is slacking or if they are waiting to reveal these figures at the proper time.

That would be ideal. From what I see, there is not enough merchandise available right now to cover the extent of The Hobbit. We need more figures and beasts in both lines. How about a playset or 2? The statues are slowing coming along, and they look great, but this is an epic film. There is so much left to do!

Enjoy the snow days and the weekend! I started watching a series called, "The Batman." I bought the whole set, It's AWESOME!

That's a good question. It sounds like the original cast is going to come back and be in a mentor roll. So I'd say the main characters will be their kids or something like that. Is an intersting take and allows for SW to continue on and not try recasting roles. I agree on the CW. It has allowed SW to become a depper universe which I think its better for.

Did you see the cartoon movies? They were very interesting. It definitely puts a twist on Batman in his old age.

Regarding Batman, I read that Michael Keaton is supposed to play Birdman in the upcoming film. I have no idea how that is going to go, but I am super excited to see (who was in my opinion) the best Batman be the superhero once again!

I'm glad that the old cast is coming back for the new SW films. Seeing Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill on screen together again in these particular roles is PHENOMINAL! Of course, I'm looking fwd to all of the merchandise that will follow these epic movies as well.

I've not seen any of them to be honest. Interesting. I've not seen that. I still to this day enjoy watching that version of Batman. Its a little more comic book cheese than Nolan's films but I at times think its closer to what Batman should be in a movie.

Happy Friday, Elessar! Fair enough. lol I have the Buzz Lightyear cartoon series on DVD. It's AWESOME!

Good to know. lol

True story. If you look up "Batman Unlimited Dark Knight Returns Collector Action Figure" on Amazon, you can see the figure I was referencing. Mattel makes this figure and I think they did a fabulous job! Yea, I wish Nolan would have followed the cartoons a bit more as well. There is a rumor going around that Christian Bale might play Batman in the JL movie coming out. I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt would be a better choice if they wanted to stick to the storyline. Plus, it's nice to think that Bruce Wayne finally retired, got married, and possibly started a family somewhere.

Michael Keaton was a GREAT Batman! I really enjoyed Batman and Batman Returns. I wasn't too crazy about Batman Forever and Batman and Robin though. Kilmer and Clooney were subpar as the Caped Crusader in my book. The villains were played by solid actors, but the characters weren't that good.

Carrie Fisher is coming back? OUTSTANDING! They made a CW cartoon movie a few years back. It was pretty entertaining.

A 2 pack would be neat! I would really like to have seen a 3 pack for Dori, Nori, and Ori and another for Bombur, Bofur, and Bifur.

Happy Friday 2 U :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Happy Friday 2 U as well. Cool Cool! I did not know they made that.

I'll have to check that out in a bit on my phone just to see what it looks like. I saw that Bale may be coming back which makes sense in a way that he would be Batman in the JL movie since we don't know for sure if JGL would be Batman or Nightwing. I guess. I'm more of the mind that I like BW being Batman and always being Batman. Its cool to have someone come in and maybe give a break for a while but as a whole I prefer the former way of things being that way.

Yeah, after those first two they really went downhill. I think people at that point were really just cashing in on making a Batman movie. So the writing and the effort in it as a whole just wasn't what it needed to be.

That's what I've read. So it should be intersting to see now where they go with this. The CW movie that was in the theatres? I saw that one. I enjoyed it.

That would have been cool as well. Of course if you're late to the game you can get the whole traveling company pack thats coming out for $80. lol

Game of Thrones [In reply to] Can't Post

Ty! How was your weekend? Yea, the Buzz Lightyear series was GREAT!

For several reasons, I could see JGL being a better Nightwing than Batman at this point. As much as I like Bruce playing Batman, I did enjoy Terry McGinnis taking on the Dark Knight's role. If we follow the films, there are those select few that now know of Batman's true identity. Granted, they are trustworthy, it is still a complication. Plus, what will be the story behind Bruce and Selena? They were together. Did they part separate ways as friends or enemies?

The CW movie in theaters was the one I was referencing. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I recently started watching Game of Thrones. That is a really intense show! Do you follow that story? Reminds me of LOTR a bit.

$80 is steep, but it might be worth it in the end depending on how much the additional figures I need will cost me. As for right now, I would just like to see a pre order available...somewhere! lol

Winter is coming [In reply to] Can't Post

It was good. As always not long enough especially when losing an hour but it was good.

Yeah, if they continue this Batman Universe going into the JL film and coming out of it they've got some questions to answer. That or they will just have to ignore some of it and move on pretending it didn't happen/

Thought so but I wanted to make sure. It was good. Maybe not as good as the series as a whole but I enjoyed it.

Nice! Yeah, I've been watching that show since it started. I didn't care for how season one ended but I haven't read the books so I didn't know about a few things. It can be and season two got a bit more that way than one. I don't know if I thought season two as a whole was better though to be honest but season 3 coming up looks to be really good. It does have a tiny feel like that but I think its due to the author borrowing that feel.

Its not cheap but its probably cheaper than buying them all individually. lol I'm with ya for sure.

Winter is Here! [In reply to] Can't Post

Glad to hear that. I watched Wreck It Ralph, Argo, and The Amazing Spiderman with my parents. All of them were GREAT! I saw Oz with some friends. I liked it, but I think it could have been better. The visuals were cool, but the acting was satisfactory, the storyline was ok, and the climax was kind of weak.

True. I get annoyed when the writers ignore the current story and leave so many questions unanswered. People want to believe the tale, not be confused about it. I know it's a long shot, but I would like to see Michael Caine as Alfred again. He was AWESOME! Morgan Freeman was a solid Lucius Fox too. He's actually in a few new movies coming out this year.

Cool beans. I can't wait for CW Season 5 to come out on DVD! Ok, I at least want to see the pre order available soon. lol

Game of Thrones is a pretty exciting show! I only watched 3 episodes so far, but I am very curious to see how it all pans out. I like Eddard Stark, Tyrron Lannister, and John Snow so far. Still, I know there is a lot of deceit and villainy in this so my choices may change.

Axed [In reply to] Can't Post

Nice! Will have to check out Raplh soon. Glad you enjoyed Argo. Cool Oz was ok. Nothing special but not the worse thing I've seen. Oz the character was just so darn unlikeable for the first 1/3 of the movie or so and even after wasn't that likeable. I'd agree with your thoughts though on the movie as a whole.

Yeah, leaving loopholes can be very annoying. It happens all the time in TV shows before they go off the air if they've been on for a long time especially. I'd like to see both those guys come back as I thought they did a fine job in their roles the first time around.

Yeah, I will be getting it as well. Sadly there will be no season 6. I don't know if you saw but the show got the axe by Disney. They will eventually put out some stuff to tie up all the lines but for now it ends where season 5 ended. Pretty lame IMO. Typical for the SW Universe as a whole it seems like.

I agree. It has its moments where it has too much sex to be honest and loses the story but as a whole the rest of it is pretty darn good. Just wait until you get to the end of season one. I will be curious to see what you think.

Filoni's Words [In reply to] Can't Post

I agree. James Franco is such a GREAT actor, but the writers made the character out to be so deceiving and semi-evil. Sure, he finds his true self by the end of the film and saves the day thanks to the help of his companions. Yet, I would have preferred an alternate tale; Oz could have had little recollection of his past. Then, he finds out he was the son of a great wizard. BOOM - he has magic in his blood and learns how to harness it. I like that version. lol Plus, the end of the movie could have had a much better final battle scene that way. The people of Oz not being able to fight didn't do much to aid in that cause either.

Yea, I read about CW winding down - BUMMER! I watched a video where Filoni said that he's going to answer many of the questions that are still floating around via story arcs (might be miniseries, tv movies, DVDs, etc). The clip also included a scene from what I think was a future episode. There is a spoiler, but I included the link below in case you wanted to see it. By the end of these stories, I want to know what happens to Rex, Ahsoka, Ventress, and many others. I'd hope that Hasbro releases figures based off of these story arcs. We could sure use some fresh items in the action figure line there.

Game of Thrones is getting better and better! I finished episode 4 last night. Lady Stark captures Tyrion, Eddard Stark finds King Robert's "other son," Jon Snow befriends Sam, and I met The Mountain. That guy is pretty wicked from the history that Little Finger provided about him and The Hound.

HI guys,

Since this is an older thread, I haven't noticed it until now, but since your conversation has gone completely off-topic, and it's just between you two, please take any further conversation to PM or to Barliman's chat.

Thanks!

Into the West [In reply to] Can't Post

He's alright. I enjoy some things he's in and sometimes I don't. I think he could have been really good in this but the way his character was written wasn't the best IMO. That sounds pretty interesting and could lead to some other paths that didn't make him come across like such a douche.

I wondered if you had. I saw that video yesterday so it sounds like we may at least get the loose ends tied up. Which is better than just leaving everyone whose put time into watching this left holding the bag. Its the right thing to do I think.

Just wait until the end of the season. lol

Elessar, maybe we can just go to email? Would that be easier?
