love how lotr designers draws inspiration from real cultures around the world, like the african-south american mixture for Harad or the chinese for Rhun, all exactly the same with their masks and their battle formations, like they are one man. It is actually quite the metaphor.....

.....Did you expect me to say it wasn't...lol new stuff? not really...but just things that I love to see over and over again. Not in any particular order, just what is popping into my head right now. a) When Gollum drops the ring.....it "crashes" to the stones with a LOUD rumble b) I'm always amazed how Gandalf does not set his beard or hat on fire as he is lighting the pine cones. Guess that is what makes him a wizard, lol. c) I love when Gollum gets ready for Bilbo's first riddle and he sets his hands & chin on the rocks...what a 'cute' face. d) not that I actually like this, but an observation just the same...some folks complain that Sting glows blue but Orcrist and Glamdring don't. The do, but sometimes, especially outside in daylight it is hard to tell. You can see Orcrist glowing as Thorin raises it in the air when the orcs are attacking after Radacast and his rabbits have ridden off. It does not glow however when the goblin picks it up and unsheaths it. The goblin throws Orcrist down with no blue glow....is that Orcrist's way of saying that a goblin doesn't need to be warned of goblins around?? lol ?? e) I love the fact that you see Elrond carrying Hadhafang when he is in his amour. Nice to see the sword again. I know the sword is not in Tolkein's stories, but added to the stories by Peter. But good to see the sword again just the same. Obviously Elrond hasn't given it to Arwen yet. And Yeah, I love the sword...it is one replica that I broke down and purchased years ago. Although I'm embarrassed to admit that I still haven't found a proper place to display it. f) I laugh when I see Radagast take a puff of Gandalf's Old Toby and when he 'let's go' the smoke comes out his nose AND ears. hee hee hee g) kinda gross to see the dried up troll snot on Bilbo's jacket when they are leaving the cave, yuck. h) I chuckle when Bilbo is telling Oin, at Bag End, to put the chair back and Oin points to his ear and says to Bilbo that he can not hear what he is saying. i) And what are all those silly hand gestures that Bifur is doing during the burglar conversation at the dining table??? Gotta love him !!! j) Oh...and like father, like son...Gloin having pony troubles at the beginning of their adventure. Just like his son had trouble with riding horses k) I so love looking at all the wonderful things in Bag End. The maps, sketches and paintings hanging on the walls. I would LOVE to have his pantry. The thatched roof birdhouse outside near his walkway. The china and all their different patterns. The china cabinet and all the furniture are beautiful. I drool over all the wonderful woodwork throughout Bag End. The little wooden toy, sitting by a window of a man & butter churn. Grandkids would love to play with that.. l) not exactly my last, but I'll end for now with this. I absolutely love Bilbo's dressing gown. I heard Martin say that he kept it and wears it often. I don't blame him a bit for wanting to keep it. It is gorgeous! I am currently collecting various fabrics. I am a quilter and don't need another robe, but am going to make myself a quilt, inspired by his robe. Should have it done by next December...in time for the midnight showing of the next film. *sigh...can't wait

Yes I noticed that too! This must be before he gave it to Arwen. I would like to have seen Arwen at Rivendell, though according to Elantari over at HoF, she was supposed to be in Lothlorien at the time. Maybe she'll be there when Bilbo stops by on the return trip? Maybe he'll get there in time for a Gifting of Hadafang Ceremony. Aside: I have the Nobel Collection Hadafang... actually I gave it to my daughter -- seemed appropriate somehow. I won it from Best Buy during the ROTK TR; it was supposed to be Glamdring, but I'm not complaining.

sorry about the confusion over the helmet... in my mind it is still an Uruk helm, but the timing is really off and I'm most likely mistaken. The sword on the wall looks just like Strider's though... except maybe in the pommel, which appeared to have grooves similar to Glamdring's. I'll have to watch the movie again I guess.

I got the Chronicles, but I haven't had time to look through it. I'm definitely going to do that now :D The Trolls do talk about mutton... griping about it like in the book, but none of them say "Roast Mutton". They even talk about chicken :D Good catch on the Radagast/Gandalf drawing poison! I'll see what I can find :D The eagles definitely pick up the Company not long after sunset, fly during sunrise, and deposit in full sun. I'm hoping it's summer and the night is very short ;) I think we're seeing artistic license with the flames more dramatic in the dark, enjoying a BEAUTIFUL sunrise in the Mountains with the eagles flying in slo-mo, and clearly being able to see the Company atop the Carrock in daylight when having them deposited in the dark with no light source to see them would be an issue ;) Thank you for these!! GREAT!

Check out why I needed help with these details. Lookit my notes!! I "scribble in the dark" and then think I'll be able to dissect what I did! *shakes head* But geez I'm having fun! I'm going to go through these... and NOW I know what to look for with those dwarvish ladies. After what Aragorn said, I was looking for BEARDS... not beards ;) Bless you for these details... I'm so loving them! It is like old times now. I'm so tickled to see you here and bearing such fantastic gifts!! THANK YOU!
