The sugar comes from the jam - Gedney State Fair Cherry Preserves is my favorite. Seedless Blackberry or Raspberry isn't bad.
Sometimes I mix it up with a sprinkle of brown sugar (dark).
I am addicted to peanut butter. Plus, I really need some protein for breakfast and peanut butter is easy.
If I"m eating out: Eggs Benedict.
I had some great Corn Pancakes (cachapas Venezolanas) at a Colombian Cafe here. Not cormeal... pancakes with corn in them. Everyone was raving about them so I tried them and now I'm raving about them.

I know it's "the most important meal of the day", but I skip breakfast. I just don't feel like eating early in the morning, and if anything, it makes me feel more sick if I do. I just wait until lunch, and then devour something.
During the week ,a quick bowl of oats, usually does the trick.

On the weekends its bacon and eggs and depending on how i feel, i might have some pancakes, premixed of course. My fiance likes to have Just right with fruit, followed by a tall glass of orange juice. We bought boxes of the stuff, and i hate Just right, go figure.lol It's quite funny because my fiance (from Tonga) didn't know Just right existed.Since she came to Australia she has grown to love Just right over having Pork and Taro(potato substance) in the mornings lol.

Growing up in New England with Midwestern parents, our Saturday night supper was not baked beans, but calf's liver with corncakes: pancakes with kernels of corn baked in. And when the corn had been cut from fresh-cooked ears, it was the best!
And I have to ask: is there any way to see your avatar, if one does not have something that will "read" those strange bird-scratchings?
When I have the time and I am really hungry, this is my favorite breakfast: Bacon, scrambled eggs, hash browns (ketchup at the ready), home made biscuits and gravy, a selection of fresh fruit and a steaming cup of coffee. I don't do pancakes or waffles, they are just too heavy/filling.
The Homestead Breakfast at Bob Evans fulfills this quite well. And no, I haven't been to Denny's for a Hobbit breakfast yet.
On a work day, coffee, a glass of milk and a scone will do (and often a banana).
QR codes can do lots of different things. They can direct you to a website which might display more information about a product. It can put contact information into your contact list. Or it can display text.
If you scanned this QR code it would just display text... the word "Magpie".
Or at least it's supposed to. I don't have a smart phone to test it out! lol.
I almost considered keeping it for April Fool's Day but just went for it. It's always hard deciding which direction to go next when I change avatars since I want the transitions to be noticeable.
My grandparents were fond of corncakes with syrup in the morning

Or anytime of the day really. There's another pollantir question: Who likes to have breakfast foods for dinner? We often have pancakes and eggs for dinner and especially when the weather turns cold.
There used to be a brand available here in Minnesota called "Real" peanut butter but it went off the market and it took me a while to find Smuckers.
Most of the 'natural' peanut butters aren't all that natural. They take out the peanut oil (presumably for other uses) and add in some other type of oil. And most add sugar. I just don't like the sugar mixed into the peanut butter. It changes the taste.
When I was little, my mother used to crumble pieces of cooked bacon into our scrambled eggs.

I don't think I like that anymore. I want to eat my bacon unadulterated. One thing she used to make that I never have any more is milk toast. I can't even believe I'm admitting to eating that. Some people are grossed out by the thought of that.
Fruit and yogurt is my go-to these days

Or yogurt and granola or nuts. I wouldn't say no to eggs and bacon any day of the week, but I'm such a late riser that those are usually relegated to dinner foods at my house.
Sometimes I have a serious craving for the fruit and yoghurt option, and other times for the cereal (cold, hot, it's all good).
But usually if I bother to make breakfast, eggs win out. Boil em mash em stick em in a stew -- I don't care. Well actually my preference is fried over medium, 3, with toast. However this morning it's hard boiled with lots of pepper.
Whether or not it is the most important meal of the day I simply can't face food that early in the morning. On the odd day I may have a crumpet, but that's usually it. That said, my life wouldn't be complete without a cup of tea in the morning (at least one!)
Occasionally I might break this general rule, e.g. I might have a fried breakfast on one day at the weekend, but on the whole I skip breakfast altogether.

Also there is of course the full english... of which my interpretation is bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, wholemeal toast. A rare treat that Absolutely delightful.
I wouldn't still be able to stand at lunchtime if I were to skip breakfast.
I like the nutty ones, but lately I mostly eat Cheerios (or a generic equivalent.) I wake up thirsty, and the milk tastes really good.
But I also enjoy eggs and toast occasionally, or hot oatmeal, or waffles (with peanut butter instead of syrup). I love fruit and yogurt, but I have that as part of my lunch. I've been making my own yogurt (no special equipment needed beyond a candy thermometer, which I already had) and it's really easy. I'm on generation 9 of growing the bugs (I started with store-bought yogurt 9 generations ago, and have been using my home-made yogurt as starter for subsequent batches.)
