Dale [In reply to] Can't Post

was gorgeous. Very well done. I'm looking forward to seeing much more of it. I was surprised when he said it was as big if not bigger than the sets for Minas Tirith and Helm's Deep.

I never ever imagined the way it looks... [In reply to] Can't Post

But by far one of my most favourite sets (and locations) from all 5 films.

McCoy was also on the Dale set (05:17) but not in costume. Hmmmm....

Dale looked nothing like I pictured it! Not a bad thing, just a surprise. :)

Loved Rhosgobel; Goblin Town looks wonderfully creepy.

And those teasing glimpses of dragon gold!

That was terrific!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

And a fast move actually, I expected the next vlog to launch early August, but wow, here it is!
Many pieces of the hobbit puzzle get together now, so many aspects unfold...

Cheers to PJ and the hobbit crew! What a great time they had in shooting, hopefully this will translate in a great way on screen.Smile

No kidding [In reply to] Can't Post

Especially since it (presumably) only exists so they can burn it down.

The set is beautiful, but I have to question whether that style of architechure makes sense that far north...

YES!! [In reply to] Can't Post

I was actually the most excited to see some Dwarves in full armor! Man, they look great! Now, being that Thorin wasn't in full armor, what do you make of that scene of him leading an army of Dwarves?

My opinion: This is a scene from the first film, not the second. So, this is probably not from the Bo5A. 'm guessing it's from either a flashback or scene depicting the Dwarf/Goblin wars. I came to this conclusion in a few ways. First, they aren't showing much (if anything) from the second film in these Vlogs. Also, Richard Armitage mentioned in an interview early on that the dwarves get decked out in full battle armor for the Bo5A. In my opinion, Thorin also looks (from what I could tell) considerable younger. So, what do you all think?

Gollum's boat at 10:26 [In reply to] Can't Post

I had always worried that they would change this part (remove the boat, perhaps just have Gollum climb across a wall or something). I have a vivid memory from my childhood when I first read this. Glad to see Gollum will paddle across the lake! The thought of the sound and glint of his eyes gives me the creeps Cool

nope.. [In reply to] Can't Post

It's actually at the 2:27 mark. I can't tell, but the dwarf to thorin's back and right (with the gigantic warhammer) might be Dain!

At 4:36 the dwarves are marching through what appears to be a gateway. There's a bright orange light coming through it.... maybe they're marching to meet Smaug's onslaught?
