A wonderful thought just came to me... [In reply to] Can't Post

Dwalin and Balin are the first to enter Bilbo's house in the book... Looks like Bilbo just let Balin in and he's gone to talk to Dwalin, maybe Bilbo's about to offer some food? Glad they're not all being introduced together like Rankin/Bass Smile

I wonder what they are sniggering at?

Could just be another promo picture and not part of the film? Bilbo looks perfectly confused though Laugh

I think this is my favourite image of Dwalin so far...looks really good in character...

They could be sneering at Bilbo's kitchen and trying to make out if thats jaspberry jam or chocolate cake ready for the taking by these famished dwarves..Cool

Thorin looks like a God of Rock!Wink

Haha, god of rock, totally agree [In reply to] Can't Post

Their foreheads seem to be alot more brown/tanned than their cheeks, is it just the lighting? I think Thorin looks very tanned. Maybe its all their travelling to get to Bag End. Dwalins head tattoos actually look good as well, if you would have told me he had tattoos i would not have thought much of it, but the actor and character design work well together.

tan [In reply to] Can't Post

Due to the location shooting they did maybe..a lot of sun...or maybe its just a choice on the make up department..gandi and thorin looked tanned in the latest vblog...

It makes dwalin even more fearsome ad rugged...

Best photo of Balin and Dwalin yet! [In reply to] Can't Post

Wow, I love that shot. Also, I think it's the first time we see Balin smiling...

Still think Ken Stott's face was naturally dwarven as it is, and that the prosthetics are overdone, but the lighting here hides some of the imperfections we saw in the teaser...

As we see more and more of them most if not all of the imperfections we saw or thought we saw will disappear hopefully...one or two shots dont make the deal.

My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit"
5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

Nice! [In reply to] Can't Post

IMO the Dwarves had the tendency to appear slightly rubbery in the incorrect lighting, but here Balin and Dwalin look quite natural...also nice to see the two of them together for the first time.

I believe that the object Thorin is clutching is the hilt of the Dwarvish weapon he can be seen wielding in Vlog 3 at the Trollshaw? Love the color and detail in the costume and make-up here, as well...

Every new pic we get just makes the wait for Dec. more exciting and difficult!
