Wow. [In reply to] Can't Post

That pic looks like an Alan Lee illustration all in itself. Note the gracefully curving line of the barrels from upper right to lower left...that's how I imagine a painter would render them. Then, your eyes pan up and there's that jib!

I want to see if this pic can be enlarged....it would make a fantastic calendar pic.

Camera on the end of the jib? [In reply to] Can't Post

I assume that's what its there for rather than literally being a crane for handling the barrels.
Saw a couple when I was in the place I can't talk about. Very, very expensive bits of gear, not something you would want falling into that water.

It's an awesome place [In reply to] Can't Post

But then again, I think everyone on here knew that already Wink

If you ever make it out there, the rapids are not far away from Lake Taupo, the largest lake in the country (great fishing, btw). The whole surrounding area, except for the reservoir, is gorgeous temperate forest. It's like you stepped into Rivendell.

raft elve's village [In reply to] Can't Post

I wonder if we'll get to see the Raft Elves' village on screen, (and Bilbo stealing a pie and generally being a poltergiest and putting the village in uproar) or if the Barrels will proceed from the hall of the Elvenking directly to Lake town.

Hobbit firster, Book firster.

Have you explored all of TORN's forums?
