Because your programme is named after a movie of his... [In reply to] Can't Post

the premise being a wild man (Black) teaches kids at a VERY proper private school how to jam like the rock legends of the 1970s. It's one of those hokey things of giving a broader voice and perspective to (what we're meant to think of as) overly-helicoptered and pressured kids to have an outlet through music to "be themselves".

School Of Rock... [In reply to] Can't Post

It's Awesome, Jack Black tends to annoy me but this one his genius... plus the mighty Zepplin allowed them to use a song of theirs in the film - its almost unheard of !!

That's even more funny [In reply to] Can't Post

When we picked the songs we were going to play, the drummer wanted Dyre Maker by Led Zep. Sly The singer thought it was boring (I *ahem* have to agree) and so we are not going to do it but it almost happened.Evil

I'd never heard it used in Irish Gaelic... [In reply to] Can't Post

Scots and Irish Gaelic are slightly different. Welsh is considerably different, and Manx is its own animal again!

The key to the Presidency is charisma - never let anyone tell you that any president has real power, though the President of the U.S. has some, it's nowhere near what is often touted in the media. -But that's another matter for another time!

It will, because I will not ALLOW it not to.

Your wanting a Coke reminds me of my favourite Irish joke where the punchline reads: "Oh no! You've got it all wrong! Everyone's FINE, I just stopped drinkin'!"

Happy 4th! [In reply to] Can't Post

I've been gone for a while, but I've been slowly reappearing now and again. School's kept me busy-I have one year left until I graduate, then head off towards even more school *sigh* I'm interning at a local news station for the summer, so that's been fun. I got in all my hours for this past week in only two days because there was both a fire and a flood near by, so that was hectic and yet very eye-opening.

I'm not sure what my plans are for the weekend, but you can bet relaxing is a high priority :) Happy 4th to any fellow Americans!

Jump by Van Halen, Walk by Foo Fighters, Livin' on the Edge by Aerosmith and Just a Girl by No Doubt. We might have time to play another song too. Everyone talked about maybe Eye of the Tiger by Survivor and I said something about Awakening by Switchfoot. We'll see.

D'yer Maker... [In reply to] Can't Post

is based upon an old Cockney English joke:

"No, she went of 'er own accord!"

Sorry about your laptop... [In reply to] Can't Post

I hope you can get it fixed! That's exciting about your phone though. I've had an i-phone for almost three years now and it works great (if you don't drop it). You should try to add "Words with friends," that's a fun app. My friend got me addicted to it a few weeks ago, and I got my dad addicted this past weekend :P

It's always nice to hear from you. Hope next week is better than this past one!

I'd believe it 'cause I'm pretty well-travelled... [In reply to] Can't Post

But the stereotype in the U.S. of the drinking and ever-fighting Irish is pretty well ingrained.
I'd guess Kipling had something to do w/that, at least originally when people still read GOOD literature! hehe

Or Kashmir, or Stairway to Heaven, or Misty Mountain Hop... [In reply to] Can't Post

to name a FEW! hehehe Zep is the GREATEST rock band EVER (and yes, given your comment about them and giving permission I know you at least slightly disagree w/me).
But everyone who appreciates them even a little should listen to Sandie Shaw's version of "Your Time is Gonna Come", the first-ever cover of a Zep tune about 8 months after Zep originally released it. Nice take and her voice is GREAT and the 12-string guitar accompaniment is both different and appropriate.

Nagh, we are mostly drunks... [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm not worried by that stereotype. Stereotypes are generally close to truth...

I've had many hard times growing up and joing new jobs and what not and trying to explain to people that i don't drink . They look at you as if you have two heads or something, then they presume it must be something to do with religion or something happened to me or whatever... i'm well used to it at this stage
