"Of all faces those of our familiares are the ones both most difficult to play fantastic tricks with, and most difficult really to see with fresh attention. They have become like the things which once attracted us by their glitter, or their colour, or their shape, and we laid hands on them, and then locked them in our hoard, acquired them, and acquiring ceased to look at them.
Creative fantasy, because it is mainly trying to do something else [make something new], may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like cage-birds. The gems all turn into flowers or flames, and you will be warned that all you had (or knew) was dangerous and potent, not really effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you."

Lindir and also Arwen? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi everybody, this anouncement makes me feel about, if Lindir appears on The Hobbit, Arwen i feel it will be able to appear aswell, I mean that as we see in rotk Lindir seems to be a servant of "His Lady", I think it wouldnt out of place, for example if they use the same lines of Lindir that appears in lotr books, on the hobbit movie, it wouldnt be ouy of place if they use Arwen just sitting around the table alongside Elrond, and Bilbo being impressed with her beauty, that happens on the fotr book, but instead Bilbo is Frodo who is impressed with Arwen´s beauty, and maybe Aragorn with ten years wth a little joke with Bilbo, but im talking about Arwen, well have a good time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that you mention it [In reply to] Can't Post

the way his lips are pursed one can imagine a tiny fish tail wriggling between them. That or he's hiding vampire teeth.

Or do you mean to comment on the wisdom of re-casting a fan favourite LOTR bit part for an expanded role in TH?

Having this discussion elsewhere. With a closer shave perhaps, Bret very much looks the part of an Imladris resident.

Elves doing jazz?

Surely elvish music has to have a few nonsense sounds thrown in somewhere. Tongue

And I'm in love with illusions
So saw me in half.
I'm in love with tricks

Elves singing Elvis music? [In reply to] Can't Post

I shouldn't have written that, now I have this image of Bret as Lindir with an Elvis hairstyle and wearing rhinestones and swinging his hips while singing "You Ain't Nothin' But A Hobbit"...
