In general [In reply to] Can't Post

it is legal in NZ for a photo to be taken of private property/people if the pic is taken from public land (such as a roadside). I don't know if that right could be overtaken by an injunction, but I don't believe so.

I believe the only pressure that could be put on TORN would be around conserving the open relationship between TORN and the studio/3ft7.

In Reply To

whoever is taking these appears to be getting away with it and the images are remaining on TORN without some kind of legal hoo-ha regarding their removal.

"Foil cloaks" [In reply to] Can't Post

Is it just me...

or are the actors walking around wearing these big generic sky-blue cloaks as per studio orders, to try and foil the likes of us sassing out what, say, the dwarves look like? Or in future other actors? Or are those 3D camersa necedssaries or something. Forgive dumb questions.:)

Also.,..this may be off the mark, but...was LOTR casting announced this peicemeal? Do you think everyone has been cast, more or less, but WB is announcing it only as those scenes are being filmed, again, to cut down on spy activity? I don't imagine they'll be as friendly to TORN and other spy sites as NL was.

The one´s to blame for this scoops.. [In reply to] Can't Post

...would obviously be the actors! All of them have hooded robes( oh by the way,I see a Hobbit in a green robe not blue!) to disguise their characters when they go out of the studio into the trailers so who´s to blame if the actor (apparently James Nesbitt) didn´t choose to put his hood on?

About Bilbo or no Bilbo theory we can only speculate if it is indeed Martin Freeman, a stunt double or other Hobbit character such as Drogo Baggins for instance. In fact i´m glad we can´t effectively be sure, at least not for now. We´vejust started playing we don´t want to spoil all the fun would we? Tongue

For those who complain about this sort of news please, stay away from threads like this and it will be fine for you, no one is forcing you to look at the pictures!

Creepy Area 51 pics [In reply to] Can't Post

These pics look like something taken of Area 51. The first one with the blue robed mystery man - his sinister smile just gives me the creeps. And the dwarf character with the ears just looks like an alien. And toss in some security guards and you have a cover-up!

Ummmmmmmm ...... [In reply to] Can't Post

No need for the obvious comments about reading spoilers thanks, Ataahua and feeling slightly patronised, tbh.

I'm fine with them thanks, and am not about to cry about it. I said I was kinda surprised the spy could get away with it, but also that the whole espionage/detective thing IS kinda fun. Because it is, and it's obviously why a lot of us are here to get a first good butcher's at the cast in costume, by whatever means presented to us.

Who doesn't want to see the odd spy pic? Man, we've all waited long enough to catch a glimpse of something tangible on this production. If there's nothing that the studio can do legally to stop them, then that's their tough for not putting proper measures in place, or getting out an official image of the cast in costume so they weren't completely scooped.

My only reservation is that he'll eventually get much better shots, and that'll be exactly what happens. Not a hue and cry or a killjoy script really; and a problem for them, less so for us.

Let the illicit images roam free! Evil

I'm not sure [In reply to] Can't Post

if you meant to reply to my comment about opening posts that contain spoiler pictures, or if you're commenting on my post about NZ law regarding public photography.

My comments about NZ law was intended as general information, especially as I don't know what the laws are regarding photography in other countries. I didn't mean for it to sound patronising.

But if you did intend to respond to my 'spoiler pics' post, then you might notice that it was in reply to thehobbitftw.

Ahhh [In reply to] Can't Post

Just seemed obvious info in general really on the spoiler front, and thought your comments along with a couple of others were encompassing anyone who'd basically been taken as moaners etc. for expressing reservations. Sorry 'bout the patronising comment; long day at the office etc etc. Frown

Just wanted to reiterate because I didn't make it clear - I'm basically in favour of spy pics, just not sure how far they should go really. Oh and your post on NZ law was interesteting too, so cheers. Smile

Almost looks like they are staging these photos [In reply to] Can't Post

They are hiding with cloaks or turning their backs, almost as if they know someone is taking pictures and they are walking around giving the photographer a little tease...!?

They are carrying umbrellas now. It was fun while it lasted. Maybe someone will lower their guard by accident. We always have on location spy shots to look forward to.

Sorry but I find that theory too far fetched... [In reply to] Can't Post

I do not believe that they staged anything, they are simply trying to be careful when the actors are on the outside hence the hooded robes. They are not stupid they are aware of the possibility of photographers trying to get their scoop.

Probably just taking precautions... [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm sure PJ and Co. know that the spy is there... I think this kind of secrecy indicates that we won't be getting production diaries (like there were for King Kong).

I'm ok with that... I actually like the mystery.Smile

Me too [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't want to see what Bilbo or the others or the sets look like, until I see the first trailer or watch the movie for the first time. I want to keep the movie as new and fresh and unspoiled as possible. I'll have to continue to be cautious in what photos or threads I open.
