Goblins? Where? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hopefully only at the WETA workshop! Laugh

Might I have a tall raspberry iced tea today, please, Altaira? It's lovely sunshine-y weather here, and I'll be travelling to my Dad's to spend some time with him this weekend, and to have a nice get-together with my ex-sister-in-law and her hubby (long story, but we all told my brother he was being an idiot when he divorced her years ago; our families have remained great friends Smile).

So has all your snow finally melted away?

Oh, they lurk here and there every now and then [In reply to] Can't Post

Which is probably a fairly true statement. Wink

Sounds like you have a nice weekend planned. Now that I'm *finally* over my tummy bug (it turns out it was an infection), I have lots of homey chores to get done that went undone last weekend. And, (whispers) it seems like the snow is gone.

Have a great time, dernwyn! Smile

*hugs!*

Right on! Gotta love a good swing-dancin' fiesta. [In reply to] Can't Post

Who's the lovin' dolly with the beautiful eyes?
What a pair o' lips, I'd like to try 'em for size!
I'll just tell her, "Baby, won't you swing it with me?"
Hope she tells me maybe, what a wing it will be!
So, I said politely, "Darlin' may I intrude?"
She said, "Don't keep me waitin' when I'm in the mood!"

I'll stick to the dance floor, and might just maybe join those wallflower shoulder-rubbing elves a little later on.

I'd like to offer everyone a drink! [In reply to] Can't Post

It was my birthday yesterday, so have a drink on me!

I had a lovely 24th. Had the family over for a meal and cake last night, and I got some very thoughtful gifts. Neil bought me a gardening manual, and a birdspotting book. The latter he bought because I am forever spotting new birds visiting our feeders and asking "Ooooh what's that one?!" Well now I can find out!

I also got a lovely new hanging basket, that my mum-in-law planted for me, it's very pretty!

Dad surprised me with a cast iron chiminea, so there will be lots of evenings spent in the garden this summer! This weekend is set to be a hot one, (before it gets cold again next week), so I think I will mostly be busy with my new gardening gear.

Hope the sun pops into your part of the world too! Happy weekend!

Hello Altaira! [In reply to] Can't Post

I hope you are goodly and it is a fine day here in the east in the 80's after a chilly spell.

I am in need of a frosty diet coke because i am in full swing still getting this porch construction to almost completion stage. I am working on the round stairs on the new side and cement/4x4 work for the mini porch on the other side to be able to get in that door. It will have two pillars left over from the original porch.

I will have to buZZ out the door now to keep to thee plan. I will get back after dark if i am still half aliveTongue.

Cheers to everyone on this fine day and i hope you all are enjoying the new season that is upon youSmile

T'is FINALLY Friday!! [In reply to] Can't Post

And I'm neck-deep in my friend L's open-house for her graduating daughter. I really feel for L. This is her last of 3 kids to grow up and graduate... the older 2 moved away already... so she's devastated. *sigh* I sank to my knees and thanked God when mine made it as I held the door open and invited them to spread their wings!! BUH-BYE! Of course, I forgot to seal the revolving door for several years after ;)

Love my girls to pieces, but being 18 and in high school when I started my own family (40 years ago on Sunday!) left me with a burning desire to finish growing up myself! I'm still a work in progress ;)

So, may I please have a pink lemonade to get me through the next few days, Altaira? DANKA MUCHLY! And I hope you and ya'll have a great weekend!! STAY SAFE!

I really need these new films to take me back to, and not re-introduce me to, that magical world.

Woohoo!!! [In reply to] Can't Post

I was planning on coming in and complaining about this total crazy busy week at work.

But coming home my day and week brightened to no end.
First there was a package for me at the neighbours. It was the map I ordered at Weta. They made a map of NZ with all the filming locations painted in it (have a look). And it is really very pretty, unfortunately it is very curled up from the trip to Holland, so I'm de-curling it now and can't take a picture to show it how it really is, but the image at the Weta site is just as good as it is in real life. I started talking to the neighbour about it and showed her the map. And just 15 minutes later she is at my door with two maps, one containing 6 posters from The Hobbit painted by Alan Lee (Bag End, The Trolls, The Wargs, The Carrock, At the Forest Gat, Smaug) and one containing 6 Tolkien Posters Images of Middle-earth by John Howe (Smaug, The Dark Tower, Gandalf, The Fall of Gondolin, Ulmo, Fingolfin's Challenge of Morgoth). They are so wonderful, about A3 size. I never owned any of the images so it is really amazing to have them now. She just gave them to me, I didn't even have to pay or anything for them. Isn't that just a great neighbour!

So now I'm really happy and forgetting about the stress.

But just a quick head-up. If anybody happens to be around Eindhoven from 3 till 13 June, come and visit our exhibition in the Van Abbe museum. The students in my department developed various kinds of media for certain groups in society and that is going to be shown in the museum. It will be really great, but at the moment it is just a lot of work. So anybody having a chance or knowing somebody who might, just come over.
