Rereading my own post

I don’t know where my mind was when I said the Necromancer was a White wizard? Of course not… (I think I was thinking about Saruman who wasn't named in TH.) There were no “White Wizards” at all in The Hobbit and your description of “white wizards” seems appropriate for that book.
Of course the Necromancer (Sauron) wasn’t an Istari or Wizard at all, but again as you say he could be considered a “wizard” or “black wizard”. Thanks… Smile
