I had the Hobbit Hole Breakfast at Denny's tonight for supper, and my friend (not a Hobbit fan) had Frodo's Pot Roast Skillet and.... both dishes were delicious! The bacon was done to perfection and oi do I love egg in the basket -- though this might be more appropriate for a V for Vendetta tie in, am I right?
The melt in your mouth pot roast was served over a bed of bite sized po-tay-toes, brocolli, and mushrooms which made for a dish (and flavour combination) that is easy to imagine a Hobbit serving. I would that there had been more mushrooms, but my buddy isn't keen on fungi so there were no points lost there.
And just so you can gauge how not a fan my friend is, I commented that it would have made more sense for their dish to be Sam's Roast Chicken Skillet and they had no idea why I would say such a thing.
All an all a great meal. Some fried tomato would have gone well on the side of my dish. But this is a Hobbit, not a LOTR promotion after all.
