Great spot DarkJackal, and I agree, it can't be at the xenith of Dwarven Erebor.. I'd hesitate a guess:

It's some of the Iron Hill dwarves quick marching out of the gates of Erebor (could it be anywhere else? ? ) for some reason.... I'd not say Bo5A... summat else.
Plus, the gouges, safe bet: Done by Smaug in his sacking of the Lonely Mountain? ?
