There was no word on a role for British acting veteran Sir Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings movies, and who was reported to have encouraged actors not to work on a non-union film. His UK publicist said Sir Ian did not want to comment. More bad notice on the horizon I hope not best pasi When the boycott first took effect, the unions claimed that Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, and I believe Hugo Weaving were on their side. Yet take a look at this article. http://www.showbiz411.com/...ng-for-hobbit-papers This was after the boycott was announced. So why would he encourage actors to not work on The Hobbit when he himself is waiting for a contract?
