Studios cutting Peter Jackson down to size? He is never walked away from a fight. Do you remember the history of the LOTR?

And why would they be trying to screw the one guy trying to keep it all together? Filming in other locations has nothing to do with Peter Jackson. It's always been about the almighty dollar. They were suits before the movie and they will be after. Peter Jackson, according to several news syndications if you believe them, announced that they would have to look offshore if NZ couldn't provide better incentive for the film to be made there. The labor union issue is only part of the problem. The New Zealand Film Commission is a major part. You should read his 2010 investigation/report on NZ film making. Pretty insightful.
