FoF's instagram and now on google list a possible rumor that Kate Winslet would be the other female lead.
I am think she will either be Gilraen (And that's actually who I am hoping she will be). She could possibly be Smeagol's grandmother, but I am leaning more towards her being Aragorn's mother.
If she is cast, I really hope she is Gilraen the Fair.
Again, there is no mention on Galadriel being one of the casting calls, so most likely if she does appear, Cate will be back.

Interesting, if true. Yeah, I could see Kate Winslet as Gilraen. Another role for the older casting would be Gollum's grandmother. I'd rather see Cate Blanchett return for Galadriel, but if she doesn't then Winslet could even be in talks for that role. My bet, though, would be that your hunch is correct. Especially since we've already read that the casting call is not supposed to be for Galadriel.
