Age of Samwise Gamgee when he sails to Valinor. His actual age is a puzzler. Several searches call for (at least) 102 yo. I am drawn to the S.R. (Shire Reckoning) as the dates to use in Sam's age. The Appendices only follow S.R. dates for Sam's timeline. Fo.A. (Fourth Age) dates are given in online sites (i.e Tolkien Gateway, One Wiki to Rule Them All, Encyclopedia of Arda, etc.) which I added for expanded information. I have my own thoughts on that.
According to the Appendices:
...Sam's age is given as 96 yo when he leaves his 7th time as Mayor in S.R. 1476. Sites show Fo.A. 55.
...Sam sails from the Grey Havens in S.R. 1482. Sites show Fo.A. 61.
The difference between S.R. 1476 and S.R. 1482 is 13 years making Sam 109 yo.
The difference between Fo.A. 55 and Fo.A. 61 is 6 years making Sam 102 yo (which the sites use).
Imho, Sam was 109 years old when he left the Shire, went to the Grey Havens and ultimately joined Frodo and the others in Valinor.
It's pretty clear-cut. Samwise was born in Shire-reckoning 1380. Rosie died on Mid-year's Day, 1482, with Sam riding out for the Gray Havens on September 22 (what would have been Bilbo's 192nd birthday and Frodo's 114th).
1482 - 1380 = 102. Sam was 102 years old when he left Middle-earth. I'm not sure where you got an additional 7 years?
