Remember when the hobbits and Gandalf were returning to the Shire and gave Barliman some news?
From Homeward Bound: The Return of the King "…better times are coming. Maybe, better than you remember. The Rangers have returned. We came back with them. And there is a king again, Barliman. He will soon be turning his mind this way."
Well, here's a Book Spoiler that shows how strife can bring good things… for a moment of Tolkien-zen.
