Jamie Dornan seems like a good choice for Strider. He certainly looks the part more than Leo Woodall, who is instead playing Halvard, possibly another Ranger of the North. Kate Winslet's Marigol is presumably the grandmother (not mother) of Sméagol. And of course there will be more casting announcements later.
I have high hopes to see Viggo Mortensen and Liv Tyler make special appearances in The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past (working title), as King Elessar and Queen Arwen at the Brandywine Bridge.
