One thing I missed in DoS...

... was a scene with him and Legolas where you could actually feel that they are father and son or even related. They just seemed so... angry/worried all the time. And like, when they spoke to each other after that orc was beheaded it was like they really did not like each other even. But maybe they aren't the best of friends for some unknown reason. When Thranduil says "No one enters this kingdom, and no one leaves it", he looks at Legolas as if he despises him. Maybe he was just really worried at the moment, but... well... I thought it was a bit odd.
Maybe there's a Thranduil-Legolas scene in the EE which explains their relationship. I really hope so, because I'm confused Crazy
