Not a ring of power, but a ring for powerful people

It's been established that the Ring of Barahir does not give its wearer special powers, but it does act as a powerful inspiration legacy heirloom. To your point I think there might have been a strong beginning to Rings of Power show if they had paid homage to Peter Jackson's montage opening to LOTR, explaining One Ring's heritage. How Finrod gave Barahir the ring after Barahir saved his life in battle, how Barahir was waylaid by Orcs (like Isildur and the One Ring) his hand and ring cut off (as Isildur did to Sauron) and the ring was retrieved by Beren, Barahir's son, and then passed through so many hands of powerful persons-Dior, Elwing, Elros, Numenor King Tar Elendil, his daughter Silmarien, her son Valandil onto Elendil and eventually the Northern Rangers, Elrond, to Aragorn and Arwen.

That is quite a saga, as rich as the history of the Rings of Power or the One Ring. A gift of thanks, friendship, gratitude with elements of destruction, loss, restoration, redemption.Might have been a powerful show opener.

The ring's design is tricky, I have seen different variations some for sale by jewelers. It can come across weirdly Sauron like, a green emerald eye of a jewel, and the intertwining snakes, that sort of stares at you. But i sort of like the ominous yet good quality and thought it looked fine on Aragorn's hand.

(From the scroll rooms of Gondor, even the Lossoth, ice men of the Northern Waste figured into this Ring's story....)
