Merrells character name actually cites his rep

which would give it a credence we haven't yet seen with the other actors as far as who's playing who. I've updated the Wikipedia page accordingly.
It seems pretty clear to me that the names are indeed codenames. Oren smacks of Sauron and, if certain character descriptions floating around the web are to be believed, Eldien is Galadriel, reported to be played by Morfydd Clark.
