I was a little sad about the mixed reviews. Not that they change my view on what I perceive to be a terrific movie. But somehow the PJ-ME-movies had this sense of triumph around them until now and somehow the reception by critics seemed to undermine that a little bit.
But then again, Les Miserables is going through the same at the moment. It is not like these things never happen.
But when I was sitting in the cinema and people started going all "awwww", "ohhhhh" and "yes!" all the time, I knew that for most people PJ and company did the trick again.
And this is all that matters, although I am sorry for the (hopefully few) fans that waited so long and did not get what they hoped for.
This movie gave me such a welcome-back feeling that I feel bad for anyone who hoped for the same and did not feel it.
