Bilbo may be suffering from losing track of the passage of time like Sam did in Lothlorien ;) Though we didn't hear many such complaints from others staying in Rivendell.

An alternative is that Tolkien the "translator" got the date of the company's arrival in Rivendell wrong. Instead of arriving on June 4, maybe they reached Rivendell around June 13. The "confusion" might have come from the translator being more familiar with the traditional mid-summer day of June 23 or 24 and was not yet familiar with the Shire Calendar. Of course this is all supposition and I could be completely wrong. But I could see Tolkien using that thought process to reconcile the original story with the Shire Reckoning.

Unfortunately, the 1960 rewrite of The Hobbit has the company reaching Rivendell on May 23 (see John D. Rateliff's The History of The Hobbit), making this all the more confusing. In this scheme I have to assume that they remained in the house of Elrond for more than five weeks! Either that, or they depart long before Midyear's Day.
